  • I love Nyman.

  • One and only one of Nyman´s music wonderful appeal is that his compositions start and end just because...they are all eternally flowing. If there ever was a Music of the Spheres as the ancients claimed it moved the universe, Nyman´s music could well lay claim to be it.

  • hey people, where i can listen this song live version?

  • Es una música que se siente en el estómago.

  • curioso uomo

  • so beautiful !

  • I love this piece!

  • Świetna muzyka, mam nadzieje że uda mi się zobaczyć i film..

  • heavenly oboe...

  • That's actually a soprano saxophone, pretending to be an oboe... ;-)

  • if it is so, then it is pretending heavenly...:)))

  • 1994..was het geloof ik....opleiding bij Vidicom Hilversum, filmpje gemaakt bij Rouwcentrum Van Vuure ook in Hilversum.

De regisseur zetten deze muziek van Nyman daaronder!

    PRACHTIG!!!

  • Funny, i can never hear the piano. Beautiful little piece of music, "Drawning by numbers" is my favourite film of all times

  • Yes, me too. Either it is actually a harpsichord, or the piano is somehow prepared, or this the wrong film at all.

  • Nyman gives us hope.

  • One of the best British composers ever. Excellent!

  • wow! Exelent! but only 1:44:(

  • wow!

  • Great!

  • Gorgeous

  • Beautiful!

  • Spirit of Solace(S.O.S.), do you have "An eye for optical theory" video?I need as much as air!

  • No, but there's a recording of the piece from a 2007 concert here on Youtube (video ID: Gn6UlDQedgc) - not quite complete, but still very good.

  • Personally I think that Drowning By Numbers (from which this is taken) and The Draughtsman`s Contract are two of the most perfect fusion of film and soundtrack ever. (I always was posy) Shame Nyman and Greenaway had a spat.

  • Yeah, Greenaway has never been able to achieve the same brilliance since the falling-out; although that's not the only reason.

Drowning by Numbers and Zed & Two Noughts are both masterpieces. Two of my favorite films ever made.

  • de las piezas alegres y calmadas de Michael Nyman en drowning by numbers! Curioso, en TVE era el fondo de un anuncio de una compañía de seguros donde se veía las imágenes de una ballena saltando, lo que hay que aguantar!

  • hey Spirit, do you by any chance have a recording of Water Dances: Synchronizing? I love that piece but never heard the entire thing.

  • Unfortunately I don't have a video of it, although I do have a copy of the CD, "The Kiss and Other Movements", which includes a very good version of this and two other movements from "Water Dances".

  • Beautiful! When was it recorded?

  • Glad you enjoyed it! These videos are all from a concert performed in Ampuero, Spain in 1996 (I think).

  • Hi SOS.First, sorry for my bad english. I write you from Spain. I wants to ask you where do you found the videos of the concert recorded in Ampuero. I´m very interestede because ¡¡I was there, at that concert, concretely in the firs seats¡¡ and it was incredible . The concert were orgnizated to collect money to restoration of church in wich concert was, cause it is attacked by "mal de la piedra" (stone disease. Can you say me if I can buy or download the record of that concert???. thnk y fr al

  • Wow, you're so lucky - I'd have loved to have been there. The video clips are all from a VHS cassette, "Michael Nyman Band - Live in Concert", which has never been released online or on DVD. Sadly, there seem to be very few copies left for sale now, although it can still be found at various European online retailers - mine came from Amazon UK, who appear to have one left.

  • Thak you for your reply. hope that in the future somebody decides edit on dvd that concert. At least we have that wonderful collection of video clips tht you share with us. Thank for it. Now you are a friend of mine. Saludos desde España!!!!

  • Way to go with the english grammar, TARZAN.

Sorry, your cause seems well-intended, I also appreciate Mr. Nyman's compositions, and old churches.

    Best regards from Madrid.
