For me, Ella was the be all, if not the end all, of vocal instrumentation. She is credited with being the inventor of scat singing, and I can't think of a vocalist over 40 who doesn't site her as an influence. The younger ones site people who were influenced by her as their primary influences. Let's not forget to mention the honey-smooth-sweet guitar stylings of the great Joe Pass on this recording. The two of them were made for each other. What a blessing it is to hear them on this lovely song.
