Epic cinematic but the game sucks, it looks like one kick-ass hero can save everyone, but if you follow the story, the legion was big, not only some heroes with speacial abilities, steel and blood were the magic they used....
honestly speaking, the game is fun IF you are ok with doing a solo-quest. I like the interactive story mode and how your decisions have impact on downstream plot, kinda like fable. And graphics is awesome, even when zoom-in.

People take game names to mean they have to be exactly the same just upgrades of predecessor games. This is not true. Each new game you must take its' value for what it is, the game isn't shit just because it isn't what you wanted it to be.
DS2 wasn't a mistake. It was an end to the series. DS1 was admittedly better to play, but regardless, the series was brought to a close at the end of DS2: Broken World...

@LEEEEROYJENKINZ I played both DS1 and DS2, I thought DS2 was superior in most aspects.. This however, is nothing like any of those games - basically all character customization is lost (classes, talents, specializations) and you have to run the game through playing 1 of 2 different characters with a limited number of abilities, and the general layout and mechanics of DS1 and 2 have been completely changed. It's simply not a dungeon siege game.

@Tunkson Actually, the first cataclysm came about the same time when 10th legion came to Ehb which was around 3 centuries before DS1 (because Ehb is pretty far away from both cataclysm epicenters 10th legion wasn't probably touched by either of them). In DS1 10th legion had many casualties but they were able to survive in fort Kroth, Glacern and Stonebridge so they were probably able to recover after some time. So Yeah, 10th Legion can still be alive.
The 10th Legion was already thinned out because they retreated to Ehb (Dungeon Siege 1), but then, decades/centuries later, the cataclysm came when the sword met the shield the first time (between Dungeon Siege 1 and 2). And then another round of centuries later, Valdis found the sword of Zaramoth, but then the sword met the shield again (Dungeon Siege 2) and sparked another cataclysm.
Why are you guys so negative about DS3? DS3 is a whole other genre then TES series or Dragon Age. DS3 is a dungeon crawler, a sort of Diablo 3. I am 17 and I like the DS series and the TES series both, but I favour Dungeon Siege. Remember that Dungeon Siege and Diablo laid the base for some RPG's.
The pictures so far look beautiful, but I really hope Obsidian tones it down with the bugs this time. Since they aren't working for the equally buggy Bethesda, I hope Square Enix can kick some bug testing into them. I think this will be the best RPG of 2011. Since I've seen how they re-re-vamped Fallout, I think Obsidian is going to be the Black Isle of present day. Even though they are said to have many Black Isle members on crew, they haven't released anything on par with their old studio.

Black Isle is and always will be among the greatest game makers (i know they are defunct/disbanded) of all time...Obsidian nearly killed Fallout for me with all these thrice-damned glitches of theirs, but Bethesda at least puts out quality games, whereas new Vegas has so many bugs and glitches that i honestly believe it to be among the (quality wise) worst RPGs to be sold of all time...
@CreedofDarkness Yeah, Bethesda's last games Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Morrowind were entirely bug free. I think you need to get your head checked because Bethesda is one of the worst developers of all time. Obsidian at least rescued Fallout since Bethesda made it into something of hilarity with shitty writing, graphics, and bugs. Don't forget that Black Isles games were released with countless bugs as well. Even when they became Troika, they never developed bug-free games.

@sm753 we all know the old Final Fantasy games rock. If you look at it all happen when FF7 became popular and because of that square try to copy that game. Look at the characters after FF7, they made all of them emo. They all became unrealistic. Their latest games became mediocore, just look at how long FF versus 13 takes to complete. (6 years and it's still not fucking finished... not that I'm waiting)

You should try Final Fantasy Tactics that game is epic, my only problem is that it's underrated cause of FF7. Ramza (FFT protagonist) is way better than Zack, Squall, Vaan and Cloud combine.
@sm753 you don't need good graphics to make a game epic, bioware totally showed that to us except of course their latest game which is a total disappointment. Play Dragon Age Origins the graphics are a bit outdated but that game is still a kick-ass. Also google Sengoku Rance (eroge game) is a strategy game way better Final Fantasy except the hentai stuff of course.
Yeah, DS 1 had epic easter eggs and secrets .... DS2 has also some epic easter eggs (of course the credits dungeon as i call it, and chicken level in DS, disco level in LoA ..) ... in DS1 even secrets were epic, there are more secrets in DS2, but they arent that big as in DS1, and are easily foundable (mostly)

Dungeon Siege > Diablo. I like how you could make your own class by putting skill points into lots of abilities. I mean its been awhile but in DSII you had two types of magic, and then melee and range I believe, making many possibilities to be strategic. Where as in Diablo its all about builds and party formation.

Frankly I was very disappointed in this game.
a) Max lvl is 30 and there are no nightmare/hell playthroughs
b) It's way too short (about 10hrs)
c) there are way too few items (like 5 types for each weapon/armor piece) and "epic" items don't have their own skin
d) too few active skills per class
e) pc controls are very awkward and there's no changing em
f) coop is ridicolously restrictive (you can either host a game or play someone else's companion).
Wish I could get my money back :(

@LEEEEROYJENKINZ I played both DS1 and DS2, I thought DS2 was superior in most aspects.. This however, is nothing like any of those games - basically all character customization is lost (classes, talents, specializations) and you have to run the game through playing 1 of 2 different characters with a limited number of abilities, and the general layout and mechanics of DS1 and 2 have been completely changed. It's simply not a dungeon siege game.

@Tunkson Actually, the first cataclysm came about the same time when 10th legion came to Ehb which was around 3 centuries before DS1 (because Ehb is pretty far away from both cataclysm epicenters 10th legion wasn't probably touched by either of them). In DS1 10th legion had many casualties but they were able to survive in fort Kroth, Glacern and Stonebridge so they were probably able to recover after some time. So Yeah, 10th Legion can still be alive.

The 10th Legion was already thinned out because they retreated to Ehb (Dungeon Siege 1), but then, decades/centuries later, the cataclysm came when the sword met the shield the first time (between Dungeon Siege 1 and 2). And then another round of centuries later, Valdis found the sword of Zaramoth, but then the sword met the shield again (Dungeon Siege 2) and sparked another cataclysm.
So tell me...how is the 10th Legion still alive?

Why are you guys so negative about DS3? DS3 is a whole other genre then TES series or Dragon Age. DS3 is a dungeon crawler, a sort of Diablo 3. I am 17 and I like the DS series and the TES series both, but I favour Dungeon Siege. Remember that Dungeon Siege and Diablo laid the base for some RPG's.

The pictures so far look beautiful, but I really hope Obsidian tones it down with the bugs this time. Since they aren't working for the equally buggy Bethesda, I hope Square Enix can kick some bug testing into them. I think this will be the best RPG of 2011. Since I've seen how they re-re-vamped Fallout, I think Obsidian is going to be the Black Isle of present day. Even though they are said to have many Black Isle members on crew, they haven't released anything on par with their old studio.

Black Isle is and always will be among the greatest game makers (i know they are defunct/disbanded) of all time...Obsidian nearly killed Fallout for me with all these thrice-damned glitches of theirs, but Bethesda at least puts out quality games, whereas new Vegas has so many bugs and glitches that i honestly believe it to be among the (quality wise) worst RPGs to be sold of all time...

@CreedofDarkness Yeah, Bethesda's last games Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Morrowind were entirely bug free. I think you need to get your head checked because Bethesda is one of the worst developers of all time. Obsidian at least rescued Fallout since Bethesda made it into something of hilarity with shitty writing, graphics, and bugs. Don't forget that Black Isles games were released with countless bugs as well. Even when they became Troika, they never developed bug-free games.

Continuing my previous reply: And before you say that DS WAS a diablo clone, i must reply that it never was and never WILL BE. DS had full 3D graphics, mind-blowing level design, character creation and progress was totally different and so on. Look at the characters after FF7, they made all of them emo. They all became unrealistic. Their latest games became mediocore, just look at how long FF versus 13 takes to complete. You should try Final Fantasy Tactics that game is epic, my only problem is that it's underrated cause of FF7. Ramza (FFT protagonist) is way better than Zack, Squall, Vaan and Cloud combine.

@sm753 you don't need good graphics to make a game epic, bioware totally showed that to us except of course their latest game which is a total disappointment. Play Dragon Age Origins the graphics are a bit outdated but that game is still a kick-ass. Also google Sengoku Rance (eroge game) is a strategy game way better Final Fantasy except the hentai stuff of course.

Yeah, DS 1 had epic easter eggs and secrets .... DS2 has also some epic easter eggs (of course the credits dungeon as i call it, and chicken level in DS, disco level in LoA ..) ... in DS1 even secrets were epic, there are more secrets in DS2, but they arent that big as in DS1, and are easily foundable (mostly)
I miss old DSs ;( . The day i buyed DS2, and created a half-giant archer :D :D

For those who voted this down, it's because you got used with violence, gore and slashing monsters, like the tough guys you are... Most of you have not even heard or tried the memorable, unique and inspiring atmosphere of DS 1... That tree is a philosophical meaning for the roots of the Kingdom... As you can see, the camera is moving from the top of the tree to the bottom one, while showing chronological shots... Learn to think before acting childish.

@Thedarksnw I believe Uwe Boll approached Blizzard about buying the film rights to World of Warcraft. Apparently they had no intention of selling the rights to anyone, and not to him in particular! They were allegedly insulted the guy had even asked!

Dungeon Siege 1 was great, DS 2 ok, the movie pretty good (one of the better fantasy movies). I just hope DS 3 is as good as DS 1 was.

Dungeon Siege > Diablo. I like how you could make your own class by putting skill points into lots of abilities. I mean its been awhile but in DSII you had two types of magic, and then melee and range I believe, making many possibilities to be strategic. Where as in Diablo its all about builds and party formation.

I remember buying Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna about 2 years ago, cause it was cheap. I do NOT regret it, it was so fucking fun to play. :3
