Tribes was the original massive-open-team-based-vehicl­e-FPS, and it did it much, much better.

Halo was the environments and team focus of Tribes with the simplicity of Quake, the broken sniper rifle from Unreal, and the speed of... I don't know, something really slow. Too slow, even for a controller.
