I'm another one. Never heard it before. While I'm at it, does anyone remember Hank singing " I want to go where no one knows me" I say yes. I've only found a very few people that say they "think" he did. If I'm right, it has to be the hardest song in the world to find. No luck at Ernest Tubb's record shop either. O.K...call me an idiot if you must but, "I Blotted Your Happy School Days" what the heck does that mean? yeah I too have heard a lot of Hank, and this is a new one on me. I have an idea of what it might mean but, I'm really not too sure. LOL. Help!

@amazed65 You are probably too young to remember that people my age born in the 40's used ink blotters to clean up the spilled ink from our fountain pens. When hank says he blotted her happy school days he means he wiped them out. In other words he caused her sorrow.

Yeah...that's pretty much what I figured. I guess he must have taken her virginity and she was so ashamed, maybe even became pregnant , and back then...an Unwed Mother was looked down on by Society, Big...Time. So...maybe she took her own life.
