The FIG has issued a warning to the U.S. gymnastics federations for negligence over a gymnast who was not registered in the anti-doping program prior to the world championships. The U.S. entered artistic gymnast Alicia Sacramone on its roster for the upcoming world championships. Sacramone managemed to skip doping tests several times. Mm... very suspecious. If judged by looks, Sac does look very big and too strong for a young girl.
Go read the articale explaining how it happened, it wasn't Alicias fault, it was just a miscommunication between the US fed and FIG. She also was tested 3 times outside of competition and at Nationals so shut the hell up, shes not "big" nor is she as young as the other gymnasts.
The Battle of Countries in Gymnastics has been raging for years and will continue.....seems like every era turns over a new superpower in the sport and no matter who we think should win, the judges have the final say. I can't knock USA, nor can I knock Russia, Romania, China, etc....they all have fantastic athletes on their teams. The years of training to reach their level is a feat within itself.

It's really impressive their concentration, how clean they perform. Chinese gymnasts are totally diciplined. That's why they're secured while executing all sorts of moves. I love'em.

Im chinese, and all I want to say about China's gymnastics team is.. they are winning because they dedicate their entire life to it. ( by entire, i mean, they start training from a very young age, at a higher priority than SCHOOL which I think isn't a smart idea )

Seems like those whining that the Chinese women were underage are no better than a bunch of sour grapes who hate that the U.S. was outperformed by the Chinese. Thankfully, the U.S. women's team (not including Marta & Bela) took their silver medal with dignity because it was a great accomplishment.

CHINESE are trained by 100% CHINESE COACHES AND usa by RUSSIANS, ROMANIAN,CHINESE,UKRAINIAN, BELORUSSIAN COACHES....THATS THE BIG DIFFERENCE, CHINESE TECHNIQUE IS 100% CHINESE.
i think the asians and the eastern european girls have a better physique for this sport, because they tend to be smaller(muscular small) and lighter. Less body weight to carry and bounce and flip and provides for easier maneuverability. The american girls however are too fat, broad/chunky/thick and heavy to be in this sport, they look more like their bouncing hamburgers whenever i see them perform. Perhaps this isn't their kind of sport to be in.

Liukin was born russian yes, but grew up and had citiezinship, was trained and fed on US soil, in a US gym and went to a US school. i think this video is supposed to SHOW chinese gymnastics GRACE and the unbelivable strenght they have. This is not about america or china, this is about sports and achievement. These chinese girls are unbelievable and it is something that even americans should admit.
If you are concerned about something, it should be the age of these girls. Not because they might be too young for competition, but because their body WILL suffer of these exercises they perform.

I don't think that the judges favored them at all.
But the truth of the matter is that if they do turn out to be younger than they say they are then China is a disgrace. The girls are amazing and as much as I'm sure they choose this it is dangerous and also giving them an advantage. The people that should be punnished if that is the case are the coaches and the parents.

You also have to remember that there's a lot of controversy over China not granting visa's to many olympic hopefuls. They turned down hundreds of people who qualified, but weren't able to compete because they couldn't enter the country.

theres no proof that they were not 16, and even if they werent, u can blame the PRC government, but the girls as individual athletes still shud b praised and deserve the gold. they trained really hard, and at least faking their age is not nearly as bad as faking skill (like using doping for instance).

Seems like those whining that the Chinese women were underage are no better than a bunch of sour grapes who hate that the U.S. was outperformed by the Chinese. Since they can't attack the Chinese's superb abilities they harp about the girls' have a younger appearance. Thankfully, the U.S. women's team (not including Marta & Bela) took their silver medal with dignity because it was a great accomplishment.

They are not that young. These girls on this video are above the age of fourteen and the eldest I saw was about nineteen. Americans age the most miserable of all people and look awful. It's just a product of the quality of life and environment. I have seen girls that are eighteen here and from a distance I thought they were fourty-sixty. It's disgusting.

CHINESE are trained by 100% CHINESE COACHES AND usa by RUSSIANS, ROMANIAN,CHINESE,UKRAINIAN, BELORUSSIAN COACHES....THATS THE BIG DIFFERENCE, CHINESE TECHNIQUE IS 100% CHINESE.

i think the asians and the eastern european girls have a better physique for this sport, because they tend to be smaller(muscular small) and lighter. Less body weight to carry and bounce and flip and provides for easier maneuverability. The american girls however are too fat, broad/chunky/thick and heavy to be in this sport, they look more like their bouncing hamburgers whenever i see them perform. Perhaps this isn't their kind of sport to be in.
