Samsung Captivate ROM's In a FLASH (Cognition 4.0) *February 24th 2011*

Wit the new release of cognition (4.4.2) it comes with a kernel, but the download is only one zip. Do you need to do anything special to install it since it is replacing the kernel or just treat the whole package like a normal rom replacement? I've watched your videos on both of those task; thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Searched the XDA forums but couldn't find an answer just yet.

I am running the official 2.2 froyo on my captivate and I am considering flashing to C4. Can I flash C4 over the official froyo 2.2 without any glitches or do I need to flash back to the stock 2.1v??

@Shacho62 Searching the XDA forum I found that with a FROYO2.2 has an updated recovery mode (3e) and you need to mod it so it doesn't verify the zips or flash back to 2.1 as it uses recover mode 2e.

And it is running the Voodoo kernel ? I am getting nice quadrant scores with one click lag fix 2000-2200 .But my fat fingers will sure like the bigger keyboard. Thanks buddy

@WhooptyDoopty They "might" work but it's your call. You may end up having to reflash with ODIN and end up with a boot loop. If you are ok with that, then try the JJ4 Ginger package. Also it runs the stock kernel with voodoo lagfix.
