I was a 19-year-old mother. I was stupid enough to get married, so I supported not only my son but his father for a number of years. I was smart enough not to have another child until I was 33. I lived with my parents for 8 months after I left his father, and they were horrible. I had a good job, but I needed a place to be until I could get my finances worked out. Even though my whole life had been full of successes, my parents went out of their way to try and make me feel like a failure.
She's lazy, who gives a shit. At least she gets to do what she wants. I don't see any problem with that. Screw the baby. It shouldn't be here in the first place.

There is nothing that makes me cringe more than hearing a parent ignore the cries for help from their children and just say "they just want attention". When you are dealing with a depressed child they are confused and don't understand the emotions they are feeling. So yes, they want attention, but they are looking for someone to see how much they are hurting. To chalk it up to being a selfish or in the 'wrong crowd' is a failure on the parents part. I rarely comment but this just irritates me.
Just listening to how her mother talks to total strangers about her daughter makes me realize how much of a horrible parent she is in the first place. A good mother never purposely puts down her children the way this mother is doing. A good mother doesn't just say "I do everything blah blah blah", she tries to work with her daughter to make things better. If this girl is really a bad mother, she's only leading by example.
They make claims about their daughter at how horrible she is, yet it was THEIR responsibility to raise her correctly and keep her on the right path as she grew up. Maybe if THEY were better parents, she wouldn't be a parent herself. If THEY put an effort into raising her with love, she would be more loving and have emotion. I bet you this is how they raised her while she was growing up and she's just doing what she learned.
I hope she has the help she needs. My fiance and i would love to have a child, but unfortunately its not possible. I get upset when I hear of stories like this when there are peopel who WANT to be parents who can not be.

@Synicade There are 7 billion people in this world already. That's just too many. I don't want to contribute to the population crisis. I don't believe a fetus is human until it can survive outside of the womb on its own. Until it is old enough that it can, it's not a human. It will be if it lives that long, but it's not yet. Also it can't feel pain before 18 weeks as its nerve endings aren't developed yet, so if you do kill it, it won't even know it.

Most children that spend their lives in children's homes don't get as many qualifications as other children. No qualifications = no job. No job = no money.
