@multiplemes101 -- If you actually WATCH the video, you'll see that that isn't the officer's gun that is pulled... it was the suspect's, who was being detained for carrying a concealed weapon. The officer was handed the gun by the other officer and the first thing he did was unchamber the live round from it (you see him chase down the bullet that popped out) and remove the magazine.
Even if they did use excessive force (which i didnt see) the cops would just conduct their own investigation, give the officer in question some paid vacation, and then go back to their old ways once the media looses the incentive to follow up on the story any further.
The student was armed. I believe he did have a ccw but shouldn't have been carrying it on campus. Thats the reason you see the officer holding the pistol in his hand, removing the magazine and clearing the chamber.

@daschlag I attend that school currently on a part time basis. I can tell you this; they are getting more emboldened by the year. There are signs out front for the National Socialist Party all around the school.

What ever happened to the physical requirements to be a police officer. These tubs look like they are gonna have to add an oxygen bottle to their gun belts soon. @100kLemmy none of the cops in this particular video are fat, or out of shape. I haven't seen a fat cop in awhile...maybe the guy on the ground was doing something wrong? just maybe. I think asking someone politely doesn't seem to work, especially if the person already hates the police.

@100kLemmy In Toronto I studied Law, My professor was a former police officer. he said the average response time was 45 minutes at least.....by that time murderers can be in another county/area code.....and security guards who have to call the police for help don't get it and instead die of gunshot wounds.. because some cop is getting a free coffee from TIm Hortons (by the way I know a high up RCMP Officer and she said they arent supposed to be getting gratuitous coffees..helpcitizensnoturfatgut

Classifying this video as "Police brutality" is ridiculous. These Officers were very gentle to this young man. They used the minimum amount of force required to apprehend him, and they were nice about it. And the man was guilty of disorderly conduct. Let alone all the conditions & stress my Officers have to deal with out here, such as an angry crowd around them shouting during an Arrest. We have to fix this anti-Cop sentiment out here. I do think police have become more brutal in dealing with the public since 9/11 & the Bush Cheney regimes love of torture and abuse. Fox News, GOP conservatives believe all suspects should be treated as America's Most wanted. Some police officers in private will confide that especially younger officers have a negative nasty attitude and so tend to over-react in situations .
