Oi, I know that you can come up with a much more legitimate and intellegent way to diss the worlds worst genre of metal.

Deathcore sucks because it's a heavily watered down version of Death Metal mixed with core music. This means that you get a sound like two cats fucking on top of a several layers of the E string being palm muted while tuned down to drop D.

And then you have those pretentious breakdowns that are "emotional" to attract teenage attention. Go listen to Decapitated.

I used to think so too, but then I learned more about metal and I realized that while some core bands can be counted as metal, it is certainly not the case for all of them.

See, besides metal, there was also this genre called Hardcore Punk, that focused less on riffs and more on being angry and brutal. And that is where most Deathcore bands can be traced bacl to.

In the end, unless a core band has a lot of metal elements in their music, they really are just a brutal punk band.

It is all about the musical elements. Music must meet certain critieria to be concidered metal.

For instance, metal can't be nothing but chugs and breakdowns. If it is that, then it isn't metal. Therefore, bands like Asking Alexandria and Attack Attack are not metal.

There are several other things, and I can't get into all of it.

Basicly, listen to some core bands that can be concidered metal, and try and hear how they differ in sound and songwriting from the non-metal bands.
