  • The piano playing is superb, the violinist not as good

  • was this originally written for violin, or was it a transcription?

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: "6 Sonaten Fuer Violine und Cembalo" (harpsichord)

  • The actual title (translated from Italian) reads something like "6 sonatas for harpsichord concertato and solo violin, with bass line doubled by viola da gamba, if you like."

  • This is not a transcription!

    You are hearing a historically informed performance of a sonate which Bach

    composed for Gypsy violin and Steinway grand piano.
