In my own personal opinion, I would think Wade would have a bigger impact as a point (1) with his leadership and with Bosh a James on the court. If I was making player decsions, I would also dump both Dampier and Ilgauskas for many reasons, but especially lack of consistency. Miami needs more help inside. Remember, we had Dampier for a while. Never was impressed with him.

@AveryDeCesare Greg Oden would be a huge risk. He may pan out, but I would be concerned about the knee and the lack of real court time since he only has avg 22 minutes per game. Dalembert has a lot of years, but 6'11' is a small center these days. Roy Hibbert would be a great choice, providing they work to improve his rebounding. Hibbert is actually a smart choice for Miami.

This doesn't prove he can play the two or five position. if he played the two position, and tried to guard wade, wade's stats would have sky rocketed.

dirk is soft on defense and the mavs usually protect him by having him guard the least physical matchup so he stays out of foul trouble
wade can guard the 1 2 or 3 and is a very good defensive player and i think that is the main difference between them because they can both take over a game offensively
but they are both future HOF so... apples and oranges..

In my own personal opinion, I would think Wade would have a bigger impact as a point (1) with his leadership and with Bosh a James on the court. If I was making player decsions, I would also dump both Dampier and Ilgauskas for many reasons, but especially lack of consistency. Miami needs more help inside. Remember, we had Dampier for a while. Never was impressed with him.

@AveryDeCesare Greg Oden would be a huge risk. He may pan out, but I would be concerned about the knee and the lack of real court time since he only has avg 22 minutes per game. Dalembert has a lot of years, but 6'11' is a small center these days. Roy Hibbert would be a great choice, providing they work to improve his rebounding. Hibbert is actually a smart choice for Miami.
