@neil78b Hehe. I think you have the problem. I was DJing D&B 15 years ago when it was called "Jungle". Also, I just went and saw Goldie here in Hong Kong 2 weeks, so I reckon know what I'm talking about.

Granted - it's not entirely conventional D&B, but it's certainly not Techno.

If you still don't take my word for it, try Wiki: "The genre (D&B) is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160–180 bpm..." The important elements here are "breakbeat" and "160-180 BPM".

The d&b they are making now is all based on andy c and goldy's work wich is surely 110-130 bpm

@milipwn Say What??? Were you alive during the formative years, I mean 91-97.  Starting with Acen, Prodigy (OG Prodigy) Altern8. This is classic what was way back then called "BreakBeat" before it was called Jungle or DnB. If you think Today's breaks are all based on Goldie, (wild assertion) let me ask you if you know who is actually responsible for the "Goldie" sound. This track rocks, find what you like about it. If you put a song up and everyone criticized it how would you feel?

So why would u upload a good song and call it 'best d&b song ever' wich is obvliously not, this is more close to 'trance' d&b... as u say d&b is based on breakbeats, i think u are wrong, as the name self says, is it based on drums and bass, and yes i was around when The Prodigy started producing songs

@djryanash Hehe. Nice response, I'm glad you are sensible about this topic. I've only been listening to Jungle Drum & bass for about 15 years. Wiki is NOT a reliable source. But I guess to each his own as the genre has never really been properly categorized and defined professionally. I personally don't consider this Jungle and my brother who's been in the field for about 20 years also agrees. Maybe someone should get Jungle properly defined and entered into the correct location.
