    Per-Olov from Sweden.

  • Awesome! I had forgotten about this piece. I think I played it as a young guitarist (and by played I mean got through it). Great to hear it with such emotion, and to watch it played with such spirit and correct technique. Bravo.

  • Thanks a lot Paul!

    Appreciated.

    Per-Olov

  • Muy bueno :D

  • wow my wrist hurts just looking at this, respect!

  • simply wonderful, I have a question, what gears do you use for recording this beautiful sound?

  • I love the dynamics of your playing. It adds a lot of character and feel to the music. Wonderful playing.

  • @CourtneyHiltonnnnnnn Thanks for your insight as well. I will be open minded when it comes to the topic of nails. I will try both methods. I would love to see you post some videos my friend.

    Peter

  • I got knocked out of a Poker game and thought I would have a trawl around and came across this little gem.

    Not bad at all.

    Are you "new" on YT?

    Keep well sir.

    Paul

  • Absolutely beautiful. I am a fan of Sor's studies as well. One question, is your guitar amplified in any way in this recording? I ask because the instrument sounds amazing and I'm wondering who made such a beautiful guitar. Keep posting my friend, the world needs more people like you these days.

    Rigel Stewart, Canada

  • perfect!

  • FANTASTISKT

  • so many pieces, so little time; gonna use this video as a guide on my study of op31 no 20

  • you are the outstanding guitarist on you tube and I would love to hear you in concert

  • you are awesome... i'm from mexico

  • Hola! Muchas gracias! you are kind... I am Swedish :-)

  • @AndanteLargo Mr. Kindgren I started classical guitar a few months ago and I have a beginner Yamaha C40 as my guitar. My left hand technique on this piece is decent, but the right hand staccato is troublesome for me. I have been producing this very thin plastic like tone along with a clicking sound from my nails when I mute the strings. Can you give me some tips on how you produce that full tone without any external string noise. The guitar itself is important, but I know the player is much more

  • Hi. I cannot 'teach' you here on YouTube comments but I can give you a fast tip. Keep your nails as short as possible. Not more than 1 mm. above the finger tip!! And use some sand paper (grade 1200) to polish them. Also when you mute the strings, use the flesh under the nails, not the nail.

Secondly, use as small movements as you can when plucking the strings.

    Good luck,

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo Thank you sir. That is actually the kind of answer I was looking for. I wasn't sure which nails produced a fuller tone since I have long nails. I appreciate your feedback very much. I always will love your music and cherish the inspiration that I recieve from listening.

    Thank you,

    Peter

  • great :] I have to play this piece for my class do you have any suggestions on how to go about learning it? I mean for example going through it playing just one of the notes then two etc or just the three notes all together?

  • i like this one it sounds playfull hahah just need the sheet music

  • I don't listen to this kind of music but i'm amazed at his skill, it's perfect.

  • Lovley and clean, very musical. Well done. BARVO...!

  • Quel toucher!

  • really well played

  • Fantastic !!!! 5 stars !!!!

  • beautiful !!

  • That was awesome! Whenever I'm working on a piece I see if you have a version on YouTube first. Like this one, your work stands out.

  • As beautiful as Segovia's. Thank you for posting this video!

Thank you for introducing me to such beautiful music, I can only aspire to be as good as you one day :)

  • Love Fernando Sor!

  • Thank you.

  • I still enjoy this piece and your playing of it.

    Thanks :)

    Paul

  • Dear Per-Olov,

great work - my compliments! I share your love for these pieces which are often underrated and considered as mere technical pieces.

  • beautiful sound!

  • Hey Per-Olov... you mentioned a Tarrega study that you warm up with before you play other pieces... what study is it? Thanks in advance and thanks for your music! John

  • Hi there John. I planned to post that looooong ago :-) I never came around though...

Karl Scheit published Tarregas complete technical studies at UNIVERSAL EDITIONS (UE 14431) It is no 50 in that book. I consider making it available at my web shop soon. I am sure it is also on the web somewhere.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Just brilliant and tasteful - gj!

  • Tack ska du ha!

    Per-Olov

  • Hi Per-Olov, you've played this difficult piece very well, congratulations.

    Regards,

    Vernon

  • Thanks Vernon. Appreciated.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I used to think Peter White was the best guitar player God has put on this earth. However, I am now convinced that Per-Olov has been annointed by the Holy Spirit. I am inspired to do good deeds.

  • :-) thanks a lot. I don't know if you are right but I feel 'blessed' sometimes... :)

    Thank you.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Very nice, and good to hear the better quality sound!!

  • Thank you Tommy!

    Per-Olov

  • What do you do for a living?

  • Hi again... I only play the guitar. Concerts and teaching. I am a classical guitar professor in Copenhagen, Denmark

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I had a hunch that you'd be a professor. You're too good to not have studied at that level. You are amazing. I hope that one day i might be good as you.

  • I'm inclined to believe that you added in some sort of reverb.

  • :) You are right! I did. It is more like when I play at concerts then.

    Per-Olov

  • I have the album with John Williams playing the 20 Sor studies, and my opinion is that this rendition is MUCH better! Very clean chord changes!

  • :-) Thanks. That is because I have to work to make it good. J.W. dosen't... :)

    Thanks,

    Per-Olov

  • Wow those are some amazingly fast and clean chord changes!

  • Thank you! Appreciated.

    Per-Olov

  • One of my favorite studies by Sor. I learned this piece almost 20 years ago. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Beautiful tone and dynamics. Wow!

  • Great piece!

  • wow is that actually you playing? the tone is amazing.

  • :) Yes, it is... just there in front of the camera... Thank you for your kind comment.

    Per-Olov

  • James, he would have won the Oscar for best male actor if it wasn't him playing! Haha...

  • Did you ever get around to posting your Tarrega study you warm up with? I would love to hear it...

  • Hi! No, I never did... sorry. So many things came between. I moved to Sweden and went to the USA and Englend for 2½ months. Now I might do that Tarrega piece... I will try but no promises.

    Per-Olov

  • Very good amazing technique

    Per-Olov

  • Fantastic!

  • this is awesome

you have a video for almost all the songs i am taking for my grade seven which is very useful

btw when did you take your grade seven exam because im only fourteen and im worried that my hands are too small to play it!

  • For you it is "warm-up" only, for me real challenge :)) Congratulations and regards.

  • now thats a warmup

  • Dear mr. Kindgren,

My son was a Dutch soldier in Afghanistan and got wounded at his right hand. We both play the classical guitar. So it was a disaster for playing. But now he is still playing very good even with his handicap. We still like and play our music. We like your performances on youtube very much. We learn a lot just observing you technic.

    Thank you for that.

We wish you and all the NATO soldier guitarists a very Happy New Year.

    Evert de Kruijf, Holland

  • I admire your son more than I can say.

  • Awesome.

  • Beautiful thing. Really moving.

  • Beautiful tone, great articulation. Well done!

  • What an attractive piece - !

Love your naturally moving left hand

    thanks for beautiful music

  • Hi! Thanks a lot! I am happy you like my ... hand .-)

And yes, Sor's studies are very nice.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • That was fantastic!!

  • I've been looking for a good rendition of this study for quite some time, but I knew it as Study #9 from Segovia's Sor Study book. I'm sure glad I found your recording! This is excellent!

  • Thank you! i am honored you listen to me!!

    Good luck playing this!

    Kindly,

    Per-OLov

  • That was great.

I was wondering what microphone you used to record this?

  • Hi! I have been traveling so I just saw your comment. Thanky ou! I use a AKG C 460 B mic. Very good. I bought it when I had money.. :-)

    Per-Olov

  • wow you have my compliments on this one you played it very good.

I was wondering if you could maby post a video 1006 Prelude from lute suite 4 from. I personaly think that is one of his greatest suites.

I know its hard so i dont expect you will post it but it would be nice :p

    Egi

  • Hello my friend,,only a virtuoso can play with that dexterity,,,there's something special in your music, and make my life very pleasant,,my respect and best regards....

  • Hi there! Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your words.

My best regards to you too!

    Per-Olov

  • I am humbled by your playing!

Last night I was informed that I will be playing for a crowd (anywhere between 20 and 3000) in two weeks, so I set out to learn a new piece. I decided to play two Tarrega selections, Adelita and Lagrima (both of which you have up here). Your interpretation is *amazing*, thank you very much, as I have incorporated some of your interpretation into my own playing of those two.

I showed this to my dad tonight, saying "I can only wish I could play that!"

  • Hi there.

thank you for your kind words. Appreciated. And I am happy you can use some of my interpretations...

I wish you good luck with the concert! Take it easy and remember it's all about the MUSIC!

Let me know how it went, OK?

    Per-Olov

  • :O QUE BIEN TOCAS.......

  • Hey Peo,

Very nicely done. We haven't conversed in a while and am glad to see you expanding the horizons of the guitar!

    Robert

  • es pefecta la tecnica pero creo que no se toca tan rápido.felicitaciones

  • Did you ever post that tarrega study that you referred to in this video's description?

Thanks for this, by the way, I'm going to look up this study and add it to my routine. I've found that, when I'm trying to improve my arpeggio technique, playing things like this piece actually helps more than just playing arpeggios over and over and over. Go figure :D

  • Hi! No, I didn't... I have the video here in my harddrive but I am hesititing to post it because it's not very good.. :-) I might re'record it because I play it every morning before playing my pieces for my concerts.

Good luck with oyur arpeggios LOL

  • Nice to hear a swedish playing some classical music from my country, Spain.

  • Great Playing smooth!

  • I know. But it's fun to do. And I did this for my young students to hear. Not for "showing off".

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • No heck no i find this pretty difficult to play. haha

  • Hello, no i think Spring has delayed our appointment here hehe. The weather it's still too cold and that's weird. We'll see! Have a good day full of inspiration Master.

P.S. I have guitar exams in June and the songs that i'll play are Bach: Prelude in D-minor BWV 999 and one study from Carcassi's book collection "Venticinque Studi Melodici Progressivi Op.60" Study No. 15 :)

  • Thank you. Good luck with your exams and please let me know how it went, OK?

    Keep playing!

    Per-Olov

  • Good Evening from Greece Master, how r u today ? i hope u r well. U dropped by to inform you that my username Manos666 has changed and the new one is ManosRK. Cya :)

  • Thank you. I play the original fasimile..

    Good luck!

    Per-Olov

  • One of Sor's best, and also very fun to play; your fingers DO dance on the fretboard with this study!

  • Thanks a lot! It' fun to play.

    Per-Olov

  • Hi Peo, I was just watching some of your wonderful videos and wonder if you use any type of guitar suport or do you simply counter balance it with your right arm?

    Cheers

    Eric

  • Hi Eric,

I use a Gitano. Google it! Great invention! :-)

    per-Olov

  • Hi Peo,

A long time fan and student of your music and video performances, I would like to submit a request if ever you find time, and that is for Fernando Sor Op.35 No.17.

  • LOL... thank my friend. My fingers are the only thing dancing on me!!

    Per-OLov

  • do you think a person that can catch a ball with his hands either one consistently well, will be able to play classical guitar better than someone who is not as able to catch a ball .

  • I really have no idea... I can catch a ball but I never thought this was related....

  • I'm lying in my bad and hear your music! Great! :-)

  • LOL. That's great to hear! Thanks!
