I saw them live- even better. This is my all time favorite song!! I'm soo excited to see their show this year. I hope they'll be at Lincoln! But I know they'll deff come to our Great River. See yaa(:

My question is, how do judges2 compare this ballad with other ballads when the group size differs immensely? Let's say you have a great ballad with 32 students, and a great ballad with 48. Who gets best vocals then?
It's so hard to compare, it's almost like a different "class."
I don't think it really is an issue. There are groups out there with 32 singers that will win Best Vocals over a group of 52 singers. Its all about the quality of singing and the level of musicianship.
I love Happiness' show! This ballad is not bad by any means, but it is unfortunately the lowest point. There are too many intonation issues, especially at the bass entrance at 1:38 (which I've noticed - and winced at - all four times I've seen this ballad). But you pick it up at the end. If Synergy did the first part of this ballad, and Happiness did the last part (after the guitar comes in), it would be absolutely fantastic.
The only time I this this song live was at linn-mar, and I have to say it has been much improved. Still intonation problems but some really great moments and great dynamics. Good job! I love your show!
Some really great moments - I haven't heard this group keep pitch yet this season on this ballad. Always about a quartertone flat when the band comes back in. Still damn good - better than most.
if you like this, then you have to listen to synergy do it. I like it better with a huge band behind it. but thats personal preference. I do still think this deserves a ton of credit because acapella version of this song is really sweet :)
This group has been very successful, so perhaps it's just my imagination, but I notice small intonation issues during the a cappella section. Also, around the three minute mark ("The tears stream down your face...") the male sound comes off as rather pushed.
Still, it's an ambitious ballad and it's mostly very good sounding.

2:56 is SOOO GOOOOD (the only non-perfect part about it is that the tenors are overpowering) i get chills every time at that part

I just wanted to say that I love your show, Kennedy, except for this number. This song is the low point of your show for me.
