I can understand that. But voting for ideals that seem increasingly unimportant to the people we are electing doesn't truly help, does it? Maybe it's a slight stop gap. Again, like voting for the lesser of two evils.
The point I'm trying to make is that if these same ideals don't apply to the people we're voting for, then voting based on ideals is rather arbitrary becuase the elected officials aren't governing according to these ideals, but instead by money and back-door deals.
