  • whos the tiny girl in pink doing triple salchow at 1:47 & the tiny boy with a boy haircut at 2:33 ?

  • @smileyfacediaana

I was wondering the same thing.

    I wonder who is doing 3S @1:48.

A boy @2:33 is Shoma Uno.

  • @ikachanusa

That was Kanako Murakami as a novice skater :)

  • @smileyfacediaana

The girl (in the pink dress) was Kanako Murakami :)

  • ohh gee they're so tiny but goood ! LOL i saw mao asadaaaaa (:

  • what music was the girl at 36 skating to?

  • So beautiful!

    I'm friends with Nanoha(:

  • OMG!!! These skaters work their butts off to do this kind of talent!!!!!!!! I ice skate 5 days a week! For 2 hours, I'm in juvenile!

I bet they skate everyday and a lot of hours!!

  • holy shit

  • 9yrs old & novice! grrr!!!!

  • wat is this song called

  • It's in the musical Moulin Rouge, I think?

  • wow love it!! i wish i could find the song somewhere and download it to my ipod

  • its called i can, can you? by vanessa mae (:

  • i know nanoha and mathew chen.... hes on there but u didnt list him

  • omggg i had the exact same

    song when i competed!

  • well done.........

  • Really nice

  • What a beautiful montage!

  • this basically show that nagoya is the birth place of great figure skaters! amazing!

  • where did u get the version of this song&who is it by?

  • It's "(I) Can, Can (You?) " by Vanessa Mae from the album "Storm". :)

  • I skated to the same version of this song when I was in basic 3!

  • Wauw!!

  • wow i can only just about stand up holding the sides i dont no how they do all the spinning And stuff !

  • i know what you mean. i'm 17 and i can barely stand without falling on my face.

  • my god they're amazing!

and yeah the asians do take it so much more seriously...now i have more reasons to go move to japan!

and is it just me or was there just a bit of ballet in there?

  • The ladies who have practiced ballet in the video (Kanako Murakami and Sayaka Matsubara) are figure skaters, and did it to improve their extension, posture and musicality. ;)

  • oh

i take ballet cuz it's fun XD

oh one last thing- these skaters (i'd say girls but that's not completely true) really are inspirational; i really wish i started skating earlier. it really is amazing how jumps like triple axels are really carried out

  • These people look bettter than the people in nationals and stuff! WOW

  • ok never mind I know every1 except 2:50

  • Sorry for a late reply! The lady at 2:50 is Yuki Nishino.

  • whos at 0:35 and 0:41 0:47 1:50 and 2:50

  • whos at 2:42

  • Kanako Murakami. She won GP Sheffield this season.

  • The Asians do take training quite seriously. No wonder that these skaters generally show more consistency than the American counterparts. And you will see that figure skaters are starting their training quite young.

  • Does anyone know which one Nanoha is? I saw her skate when she was like 10 and she was amazing!

  • Sorry for a late reply!

Nanoha is the girl in black dress with the amazing spins. She appears at 0:32, 0:48, 1:11, 3:01, 3:20, 3:30.

She will compete soon at Junior Grand Prix in Mexico.

  • wow now i realise i really am shit !!!!!!!!!! lol

  • OMG even the lil kids are on double combos and triples which nis just amazin

they must really want a gold medal or is der coaches that are pushy??

  • what year was this

  • Do you mean the year in which the videos were recorded? 2005- early 2007 (except for Mao Asada of course). Some of the skaters included in this montage have already moved to juniors and achieved success on national and international scene, while some will go junior this season. :)

  • novices*

  • i liked the guy in 1:17 and when is Novice coming?

  • Dear LindyFigureSkating

    She is Kanako Murakami!

  • Who is that girl at 2:40?? She's good! Shé looks like Mao Asada..=D

  • It's Kanako Murakami, she is coached by Mao's former coach Machiko Yamada. She used to land (underrotated) triple axels, but now is struggling a bit with a growth spurt. I hope she'll be able to overcome it. Her spins and expression improved greatly since I made this video, though!

  • Japanese skaters r really gud wid ice skating specially young children....day r great

  • Comment removed

  • they are so good!!!

  • who is who. Great skating

  • i luv the song, where can i find this version?

  • Sorry for the belated reply! I could swear I replied to your comment already, but I must forgot to actually click the "post comment" button. :(

The song is called "Cancan" (also known as "I Can, Can You?") and it's played by Vanessa Mae. I've got it from one of Vanessa's CD, but if you Google for it, you can actually find it online. ;)

  • mezz pianokanako

  • Cool. But I don't like that music with it.

  • i figure skate and there is no suh thingas inborn talent. If the japanese are much more hardworking than us then i congratulate them. i wish i could have met one of these people when i lived there. amasing footwork.

  • so young yet so good!!

fab video :) thanks for upoading :)

  • The U.S. is already kind of out of luck all Asian skaters medaled at the World's this year. The only girls I can see beating them would be Caroline Zhang who is asian and Mirari Nagasu who is asian too.

  • its like they have this inborn talent for ice skating

  • No, their just extremely disciplined athletes.

  • with inborn talent

  • Sasha Cohen?

  • has nothing to do with this.

  • If narrow hips have anything to do with the future of figure skating, I would say the U.S. is going to be out of luck!!!!!

  • OMG I KNOW HER WE SKATE AT THE SAME RINK

  • Very nice montage! I wish the future stars best of luck in the challenges that they will face in the competition. They truly are the best and I think they will have a brilliant future as the next olympic champs!

  • Mayumi Hioki, I like her too :)

  • have i talked to nanoha? ya, we went to the same camp at shattuck st.mary's school in faribult MN. That is where she goes to school. its like a big hockey soccer figure skating boarding school. She is the nicest girls ever! And she is my age, and the most amazing skater. I know she will be going to the olympics.

  • do you know how old Ryuju Hino is ??

  • I am 12 at the moment.

  • 2:26 Rika Hongo 10y,o

    2:36 Mayumi Hioki 13y,o(maybe)

    2:57 Mao Watanabe 11y,o

    3:08 Rina Kondo 11y,o

  • no fair ish is tarted sooner. its takig me foever. theyrefuse to teach me ay jumps until my spins and all the other levels ive doen are perfect. i alreay can do a waltz jumpl. i just feel tiem runnign otu for me im 18 and i can only do a ballet jump and waltz jump i started 1 yr ago .

  • Getting to the level you see in that video takes a good 8-10 years if you're very talented and have lots of money, and will never happen if you don't have both of these things.

1 year is nothing, and I don't know what you mean by time running out, but realistically speaking, if you only have a waltz jump at 18, you're never going to the Olympics so you actually have your entire life to skate and compete, there's no rush.

  • actually it takes maybe 3 or 4 for kids who r serious sbout it.

  • at least you have the chance to learn how to fugure skate. here theres no courses for adults

  • go nanoha! i love you! i went to skating camp with her this summer at shattuck where she goes to school. she is amazing!

  • Really?? wow did u ever talk to her?

  • cute, i think the one in the yellow dress was mao, is it?

  • That was Sayaka Matsubara in Mao's dress. :)

  • Cute =)

  • hey where can we find kanako full program ? I am just found Shouma Kun charming litte guy :) ... I hope someone post more videos of these talented kids ..

  • Cute! Shoma gonna be a great skater in the future!

  • loved it, shouma is such a cutie. My favourites are Kanako and Shouma :) Japan is going to have a strong skating team for a long time to come. Goodluck to all of them in the future! (and was someone wearing the same yellow dress mao did?)

  • Yes, that was Sayaka Matsubara. :)

Kanako and Shouma are also my favorites, though I love Yuki's powerful jumps, Nanoha's spins, Ayane's crazy jumping rope number and Ryuju/Hanyu rivarly as well. :)

  • nice

  • really good!
