@bajjer31 My guess: grass will go brown faster. Moss is alive even when you pull it off a rock, and it retains more water, so it won't burn. Denser, too. The idea is to make insulation.
@stupidfookinshite No really it is! He mentions it in another video when he is talking about how good something smells, not very PC, not a very good impression but it's all good stuff anyway
i love how white people really use their body n face feature to contemplate the taste of food... it makes me wanna have a british accent and do the same lol
It wasn't a good idea to skip dinner and then watch this.. my mouth was watering on the seafood bit and now the video's over my stomach is feeling very empty.
I had chargrilled Razor clam last night it was so fucking good, last night we had baby octap, razor clam, calamir and prwan, the razor clam tast a lil like the ocatp but it was much more suttel it was cooked in peper and other chille it was fucking good.
Ray mears is funny!! very very funny! Its about cooking in the wild! it not about surviving! funny! if he come to my place! he will learn a thing or two!!
Limpets, Deer, Mussels, razor clams, cockles, and turban snails. That saying: "When the tide is out, the table is set" -- totally true. I spend alot of time on the seashore fishing, often for hours. Usually i carry some sardines with me, excellent energy food. But when Im really starving, I wait for low tide, and do exactly what ray did here. There's just no excuse to be hungry at any beach!
how long did it take to gather the moss. where did you find the flint. how did you get such a big peice? how did you kill the deer? how long did it take to find all those flat rocks? how did you break off the green twigs from the tree? why didn't the sand fall onto the meat? please answer :)

My ancestors in Borneo use to cook rival tribe enemies like that in the firepit ground oven. White flesh taste like chicken, dark flesh like water buffalos, women and children are even more tender to eat after an hour in the pit, so my grandparents say.
Ok, got my own answer after viewing once again. Razor clams, mussels, cockles, and limpets. Got to see about getting a shipment of these now. Too far inland for me to get fresh.
excellent video as usual. this is the way humans have been eating for millions of years- lots of saturated fat and cholesterol. the nutritional guidelines are corrupted by the food processing, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries.

hydrobot2003 1 year ago
@hydrobot2003 as long as it's cooked well you've got about the same chance at parasites as buying food from the store, not sure where he his though.
