The basques(original europeans, origin of R1b n rh neg blood,a freakin holy blood) and the catalans are the original celts/druids/atlanteans.The despicable romans removed us from the page of history and sadly we didnt leave writings behind, hannibal barca was 1 of us(atlantean) he founded barcelona. We founded rome n schooled the cheating romans its no wonder we are resented, hated n envied in spain...envy is a bitch and twisted n jealous bastards are putting people against us.Pass it on
Some characters in this known to be ruthless and bloodthirsty either when these events are taking place or later on in their lives such as Tiberious are portrayed in a ridiculously nieve and favourable light here. Also love the way all the characters just announce their thoughts or tell you their background lol.
Thank you for posting this. Only real reason I tolerate the movie is for Livia, I like her and Octavia and think the actress playing her is so pretty. Julia is damn annoying and over dramatic, I wish someone would smother her butt.
Btw, at 52:39, stop it and watch the image. It reminds certain scenes painted by Boticelli (if I remember well). Fragments of La primavera, for instance, and another where angels are dancing. The brown-reddish (horses, etc.) seem to have beeen inspired by colors or tints one finds on sixteenth century paintings. (Or am I under a mutation spell?)
Good movie. Thanks for uploading it. But as in any peplum movie, the peplum dances are hilarious (although this one is a very good peplum movie, not a dum one, - and btw, the tints, colors, nuances are of a very special effect or quality, with a warmth, quite special, I can't explain, sometimes it looks like a painting - or am I under a mutation spell? Wait and see. I'm at 52:39 ... ((the) (a) peplum dancing scene, the first one).

Although the actor who played Octavian did a fine job, this could have been a really great movie had they gotten more convincing actors to play the main Characters. Also the fight scenes and special effects ( or lack of) fell short of convincing. The film was rated R but for what reason? There was not enough graphioc violence which I'm sure there was plenty of in the days of ancient Rome. Overall this movie gets a C+
Yes, Hollywood also needs to make more movies about the ancient Greeks. The only good ones out there are 300 and Alexander the Great but those contain inaccuracies. We need more movies on ancient history.
The movie is good all in all. I love docudramas as long as they stay true to history. There are some scenes that should be in this movie I would love to see, such as the battle of Actium, Octavian's meeting with Cleopatra, the senate naming him Augustus, and the battles against Brutus, Decimus and Cassius.
cmon hollywood what are u waiting on VESPASIAN TRAJAN HADRIAN CARACALLA 3RD CENTURY ROME ,what are u waiting on ,there are more roman movies to be made with war in them..THUMBS UP FOR MORE ROMAN MOVIES
@CoveringTheBasics dont forget Domitian, Elagabalus and the 3rd century Emperors it wuld be amazing to see one Emperor after another in quick sucession
v. ice wrote all the dialog, right after `Cool As Ice` lit up the world....
...he just started reading that book and shit, and it was like he WAS fkin ceasar!! damnnnn..... it was freakinggggg! it is the Perfect-ass companion-piece to Cool-As-Ice!
8. Maceneas does not name Octavian Augustus. Although he does argue that Octavian should reestablish a monarchy to rule Rome while Agrippa argues for a democratic/republic government. Octavian merges the two ideas into one. Thus, the Principate is born.
9. Octavian gets the title Augustus from the Senate after he is about the resign power and they do not want him to leave. Maceneas leaves Octavian's inner circle because his brother in law is implicated in a plot to assassinate Octavian.
4. The legions did not demand Octavian be made consul until AFTER he allied himself with Antony.
5. Caesar did not fight Sextus In Spain. He fought Gnaeus, the elder son of Pompey.
6. Lepidus did not deny Rome grain. It was Sextus, the younger son of Pompey who established a blockade around Rome. He was defeated by Octavian and Agrippa.
7. Antony and Octavian do not meet after the battle of Actium. The next time they meet, Antony is dead.
1. Livia's husband dies 5 years after she married Octavian
2. At the dinner party, Octavian does not smash the crystal goblets. He does this at a party AFTER he has been named Augustus.
3. Regarding the proscription, Historians can agree that Octavian carried it out with more brutality than the other two triumvirs. He even added his stepfather to the list. Cicero doesn't give Octavian a house. His house belongs to an opponent of Cicero.

Augustus' daughter Julia died in exile. Her mother also joined her. Julia should not have been there at the end of the movie.

There are many historical errors in this movie.
