  • Lovely song and great video :)

  • Pure Gold ! from the 2 with the finest voices out of the 4....All have their talents....Crosby is Silk ! Nash is all round balance....

  • @jandjcurtains Absolutely true. Crosby and Nash's solo stuff is great too!

  • @jandjcurtains Or duo stuff even.

  • @SynthyBassMan

Yes, also check Crosby & Nash doing " Find the cost of freedom " in 3 way harmonies with Dave Gilmour.....Quality is excellent for a live gig.....

  • This song is brilliant. Does this band have more songs similar to this one in its discography? It's exactly the kid of music I like.

  • @akualung "kind" of music, I meant.

  • This is truly one of the nicest songs ever written, and that is coming from someone who is primarily into Death metal, it put's me in such a peaceful place....

  • Great stuff, thanks. I think we can all hear who Jose Gonzalez has been listening to!

  • there are no words in the languages of man to express how this song makes me feel.....

  • I am going to cry...

  • lovely sad song that does rip my guts out....

  • Thank you for posting. I was very greatful to have the opportunity to see them perform this live. Your video was cool.

  • this is heartbreakingly sad. Just the two of them are mighty powerful.

  • Beautiful music from my gone time, magic mix voices and guitars

  • 1 person thinks he's god

  • whenever i listen to this song i compare it to when there has been a snow storm of over 20 inches......i listen to it if there's that amount outside or when thinking about big storms such as the blizzard of 93

  • Lay me down, maybe i be home again someday....

  • wow one of the best song i never hear .

I try to found it for years and i finaly found it thanks =)

  • Memorably gorgeous song written by Crosby's musician son, James Raymond.

Performed here by Crosby and Nash.

  • I love this song so much. I have actually recorded a version as a tribute to the guys.

It may not be a patch on theirs , but I really enjoyed putting it together. Please have a little look at it. My Island Folk Music - -Lay Me Down.

Best regards from the Isle of Man.

  • Such an amazing song. Hope David and sun are together forever.

  • what a fantastic song

  • Comedyrick, I wish you home.

  • I love this so much !!...David, Graham ..Raymond ....GREAT !

  • Absolutly GREAT I LOVE !!!

  • lay me down ohh tune man

  • Lay Me Down was written by David Crosby's musician son, James Raymond. Its sung here by the team of Crosby and Nash, and its a concert staple for them these days., One of my favorites.

  • Please try this: Turn the lights off, close your eyes, lie down in between the speakers (not headphones) and just let this wash over you. If that isn't life affirming and just so beautiful, I don't know what is!

  • @MilesMacf - that's how we used to do it in the old days, before really great headphones. If it's a great song it will pass that test, and this one certainly does.

  • @MilesMacf

if that isnt fruitin on acid then i dont know what is

  • I think James Raymond wrote it about his father, David Crosby.

  • Love that Adirondack chair and Lake!!

  • It's strange how music evokes thoughts.

    For me.........

it makes me think of all the men and women in wars

The refugees where ever they maybe.

Makes me thankful for the priveleged life i have

  • I listened this song by chance on the radio (i'm from Spain and this band is not very well known there) and I liked it a lot. The mood of that piece is also hipnotic, it has relaxed me like nothing has ever done. So I tried to grab some keywords from of the lyrics (i'm not very good at listening yet) and googled them.

And so I found this masterpiece from the 70's.

  • Cool hippie music--great video!

  • Thanks for the wonderful share - Beautiful !!!

    claudio

  • Song written by Crosby's musical pro son James Raymond: performed by Crosby, Nash and

    Raymond.

  • I love this song, and I love the wilderness, and backpacking. I hate the city. I think the song talks about battling depression, and other personal demons.

  • James Raymond, the composer who wrote this song, found out as an adult that he was actually David Crosby's son. He got together with David, his biological father, and after meeting they started jamming. Out came this transcendently beautiful song.

  • It's a gorgeous song: one of my favorites.

  • Really great. It made me cry. I just feel such an aspect of my personality in a few songs. Great jot to the singers and the video maker.

  • How lovely..! thanks, comedyrick

  • These pictures are really all great. Amazing that each of them contributed equally to what I recieved in the song. Are you a professional photographer? I hope you we are all lifted up when we lay down. Peace to the traveler.

  • Beautiful .Thank you

  • "Lay me down, maybe I'll be whole again one day."

  • I like the pictures, thanks for posting this video.

  • I could take or leave the photo sequence, however this song is prolific understated song.

  • this is so amazingly beautiful. and so, so true. more people need to realize these things... love the song btw, one of my favs!

  • This is such a gorgeous song! Having just gone through a very bad period of my life (serious car accident), the lyrics have a particular resonance. I've copied a downloaded tab of the intro into Powertab and am now looking for help with the rest of it.

  • Agree seems to be fitting to bad times in life. Great song.

  • Late sixties, early seventies, and now third millenium[Lay Me Down is "recent"], they still shine - Graham Nash and David Crosby - formerly of Crosby Stills Nash[CSN] and later CSN and Young, showing the skills and harmony as if at the begining of their career. Watch them performing "Teach Your Children" decades ago, here on You Tube clip, and you might see what I mean.

  • amazing song, beautiful pictures

  • I really love this. Thanks for posting it! I hope you never take it down.

  • Canzion estupenda. Enhorrabuena Snr Crosby Jnr (compositor). Soy Ingles (de Manchester, como Mr Nash)

  • yay ty i finally found it u rock lil helpful peep lmao
