I am curious as to how things are going in Libya today (and why the international press isn't doing follow-up coverage of the situation). It's as if, once Gaddafi was killed and the war over, the press simply moved on to the next "hot" issue. Is Libya now doing well in a free society, or have things fallen apart?

The "new government" has no real authority and armed thugs and militias rule the day, and basic supplies are hard to come by. Just know that many authors out there are still biased so please read Herodotus (who lived around 500 BC) or Strabo who lived around the same time as Rome conquered Egypt. Both described Egyptians as "Blacks with curled hairs". Ur source is a book of 1996, 2400 years after Herodotus wrote his book.

Various anthropological studies revealed that as Egypt faced various conquests, most ancient Egytians moved southward, some Westward. So I know copt people and one of my best friends is a copt. So there's little chance they'd describe someone whose skin is close to theirs as black if the person was not darker thanthey and most egyptians today are not darker than greeks. On the other hand if u look like Marshal Tantawi or darker, then u're considered black! Ur hairs may have a different texture, but u're still black. Again, the evidence today is that Taharqa was as black as John Garang.
