Hehe, I think you forgot to include "Ahmed Best", the guy who played the voice of Mouse of Mouse's Robot Service from the anime movie Armitage III: Dual Matrix.
After listening to all of them, I agree with the official choice. While Mark Hamill and Adam Clark definitely have been soft voices for the part, I don't think they go wild enough for Kefka. Dave Wittenberg has the intensity needed for Kefka's anger.
Both Mark Hamill and Dave Wittenburg are always perfect for clown roles, but IMO I think that Dave suits Kefka more. His voice has the kind of spice and excitement we all want in Kefka.
I totally agree with you. The japanese voice is the only one that stand amongst the others, that look almost identically...
One thing that the english version lost is the different pitches and tones in the Kefka's acting. In the Japanese version he sounds angry and cute in the same sentence, and that IS madness, not a unique scream.
Do you even know mark hamill is? He's considered the greatest actor to play the joker. Look up his vidoes.Any Batfans will tell that mark hamill was better than heath ledger.
If CJ Collins write a letter and shows them his acting skills, Square Enix might even make CJ Collins the Kefka voice as well as maybe a role as Kefka if Square Enix decides to make a Final Fantasy VI movie.
I must say I am agree Dave Wittenburg is just perfect his voice is screechy smart fearsome and mean just what kefka is Terrance Stone is to Screech annoying and to exaggerated & it hurts your ears Mark Hamill is also perfect but many people will relate him with the joker & that will ruin all the fun
Derek Stephen Prince is not Kefka I have played the demo of Dissidia Final Fantasy and I finnaly encountered Kefka in battle his voice sounds like a cross combination between Mark Hamill and Dave
I have to say even though Mark I would personally pick for Kefka all voices would be perfect espeially Terrance Stone that particular voice sounds VERY CLOSE TO THE JAPANESE KEFKA
I agree Terrance has the best representation of Kefka's HIGH SCREECH speech. though I'm pretty sure some of the other guys can do it too... just wasn't given a part that bad ass to use such a screech :D
I personally liked Mark Hamill as the Joker. He was able to change his voice's pitch and the laugh to match whatever mood Joker was in, be it maniacal, sad, sarcastic, or mocking. He definitely would've been very good as Kefka, I think.
But, you don't know how well they'll do the character in Dissidia. Golbez has to sound hopeless, but remorceful. Cecil has to act like his post game and hold no contempt for Golbez.
The montage also shows off their techs since some are getting tweaked in the first place.
I want adam clark otherwise known as JESTER so that when im using Kefka i can shout out the imfamous line Kefkas gonna spank your but spank you on the BUT lol
Dave Wittenburg I think has a better range than Mark Hamill, I think he did Garra's transformation form Shikaku, he can hit those high pitches (i'm not 100% sure on Shikaku)
I think Dee Bradley Baker would be a good kefka... i haven't heard his voice acting recently... but he pulled off a pretty good carnage in the 2000 spiderman video game for the ps1
He did Kakashi, but George Newberne did Sephiroth. In Advent Children, he was Loz, the creepy guy with the really long hair and the gun knife.
His natural voice is tenor 2, so he can hit higher pitches. One example I can think of at the moment is his voice of Sun Wukong in Dynasty Warriors Orochi. He's done others though. I'd have to check Imdb.
I think the last person, Terrance Stone who does Kurotsuchi Mayuri in the Bleach dub would be amazing, listen to the dub voice of Mayuri in episode 43+44 of Bleach as a good example.
Quite personally, I don't think any of these actors would work out, especially Mark Hamill. He played a good Joker, but Kefka's character is completely different from Joker. Unlike the Joker, he has no goal other than the destruction of EVERYTHING, and he will not rest until it is so, and Kefka destroys things because he sees no point in life, dreams, or hope, for he has none for himself.
I don't think so... Allow me to explain why. In the Japanese version of Dissidia, Kefka's voice can randomly go inhumanely high to menacingly low. Hamill's Joker has a monotonous tone and his cackle doesn't go that high. Jester's voice sounds playful like Kefka's, but lacks random pitch change. It's not the voice actor I'm concerned about, it's what all they can do with their voice.
Am I the only one who thinks that with Mark Hamill Kefka would be too much like the Joker, more like a copy of him than the great original character of FF?
That's the reason I wouldn't even think of casting Mark, even though I am a huge fan of his work as the Joker.
Personally I think that from these opinions David Wittenburg sounds psychotic enough to play Kefka, and also sounds like the japanese one quite a bit, which is also a good thing, since that's how Kefka was supposed to sound like.
I agree, it would be reducing his uniquness. I'm between David Wittenburg and Terrance stone. But did anyone think of the buggy the clown voice from Funimation's One Piece? Thought that may have the same problem.

Sure, Mark Hamill is good at the Joker, but casting him as Kefka for that reason neglects the finer nuances of Kefka's character:
The Joker destroys because he finds it amusing, while Kefka destroys for the sake of destroying things.
There can only be one Joker, and I don't want that any other way. I want Kefka to be respected as a distinguishable icon.
