General Petraeus Is an outstanding man! The War is won and the people in Iraq have now been re-introduced to the World community...and the Socialists/ Islamic Radicals and some Democrats don't like it.....
This general is lying, the soldiers can disengage at any time, it just requires orders for packing up and going home, the Iraqi people will rejoice and party all over the streets in joy that the invader troops have left the country. Americans need to think about what it would be like having some other military bombing & riding tanks around your country and kicking in your doors in house to house raids, and patrols. Americans need to realize that the military is there in iraq to conquer and kill.
@HealingVibrations Yeah, they'll celabrate and then proceed to start slaughtering each other again. You clearly are ignorant of the reality of the Middle East. They are NOT like us, they do not THINK like us, and would be offended if you told them that belief. To them, first loyalty is to their tribal clans, then to their religious sect, and THEN to their nation. The only thing keeping them from each others throats was Saddam and now WE have to fill that vacuum.
@BlackOps05 Before there was military action against iraq, there was no insurgency, the iraqi people were not killing each other. Over 100,000 iraqi people have been killed by american and coalition bombs and bullets, all for a lie about weapons of mass destruction that were not even found. Face it, wars are all caused to keep the war machines going, this creates a demand to manufacture weapons that are paid for by citizens taxes, its a win win for the war companies, war profiteers, they profit.
@HealingVibrations Which just goes to show you WEREN"T PAYING ATTENTION when you read my comment. I told you SADDAM had been keeping them in check through fear of reprisals. During the years PRIOR to the Baathists taking power they were fighting and killing each other. Immediately after Saddam lost power they returned to killing each other. Its the same situation as former Yugoslavia. The various ethinic groups have too much bad blood and history between them to be any other way.
More vague answers that the regular U.S. Populace couldn't give a damn about. Not a straight answer at all. Bring our soldiers home and let the Iraqis settle their own problems.
