Thanks for the kind words. I was just sort of messing around here, without trying to do any specific "Chick Corea" type of sound. But I have written another song which has some chord progressions that sort of remind me of that 1970's era Chick Corea sound, so my song is called "70's Chick"! I should upload a video of it sometime soon, but if you want to check out an mp3 of it you can download a copy from my website.
Well, while I can see how one might imagine the specs are "meant to be impressive" the actual reason everything is listed is simply to be informative. For example, when I first got my Clav I had never played one before & had no idea they have a 'mute'. I think it's an interesting sound that it was making while in that mode, but the sound on the video is also heavily filtered by the Moogerfoogers. So I thought other people might be interested in how that sound is created. Thanks for the input.
I have an older model of the wurlitzer. I love it, but I need to get my soldering iron and file out to tune it up. I also have a CV but I wish it were the B3 cause I miss the percussion circuit other than tht it is a great organ. I am envious of your horner. Do you want to swap it for my old Farfisa?
If you install a trek 2 percussion unit to your CV, you can get the same percussion sound as a b3. Actually, many players seem to prefer the sound of a CV w/Trek 2 percussion over a b3. It's got a woodier and fatter sound.
Trek 2 huh? I will check it out. I sometimes forget there are other people who appreciate cool things and may have already developed somethings before me. Here I was going to build a circuit from scratch. Thanks for the tip!
I would certainly like to add percussion & reverb to my organ. It would very nearly be a B3 then, but a remaining difference would be the drawbars. B3 has smooth drawbars, but CV drawbars are rather finnicky. Unfortunately it's a very large & complicated process to change drawbars; much more complicated than adding percussion or reverb circuitry. It can be done, though.
One possible reason the CV has a different sound than a B3 is age; the older CV uses different capacitors, as far as I know.
nice. The upper part of the Clavinet has always been under-utilized. Nice.

Despite your (meant to be impressive) list of specs, the performance still sounded a bit... average?
The musician makes the music, not the equipment...
