This is 2AC class. Choosing which class to take is a matter of budget and personal comfort level. We took 2AC on long, overnight journeys, for a modicum of comfort. Sleeper class is fun for shorter distances, but seats 6 (or more) per compartment, as opposed to only 4 on 2AC. Hope this helps, and have a good trip.

is that sleeper class? currently planning a giant train trip around india but still deciding which class to take!

It depends on your budget and what you are looking for. The classes of travel from higher to lower are :
1AC
2AC
2AC 3 Tier
2Sleeper Class
Also trains named Rajdhani (if traveling to or from New Delhi)and Shatabdi (fast intercity trains) are faster than other trains.
