  • Tempe is the cheapest and healtiest food you can find, in my country anyway (Indonesia).

  • Eat breaded or fried with sweet soy sauce

  • Awesome video!

  • great video, there should be many more views here, I found it by searching tempe recipes, I wonder if your vids would get more action if your keywords were changed or added too. There are worthless vegan videos on youtube with ten times the views . Of course i do not have any vids posted so i may not know what i am talking about.

  • tempeh is really a great food...favored by javanese population in Malaysia... try to stir fry tempeh with chili paste and belacan ( a traditional Malay's shrimp paste) and fried potato, then eat together with rice...just nice...

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • Are there any substitutes for coconut oil? I don't really like it.

  • Tip: Steam the tempeh for 10min before you cook it will give it a better texture and different taste.

  • How do you wash the tempeh? Do you just rinse it?

  • @AndroidFaye Yes, exactly. Just rinse.

  • Yummm...i love tempeh and this recipe looks so good =) i cant wait to try it, thank you

  • ugh i cant find a health store near where i live -_- do u know about any other stores that do have tis stuff

  • This is a good question. If you can't find a health food store, then buy dried organic beans and grains online, and then use fresh produce from your local store.

  • @OuterSpaceRave I had this same problem, but I found the exact tempeh he is using a Kroger, they have a little health food section. Hope that helps!

  • @Lexielush0402 thanks!

  • Well Done Larry. The video looks great.

A suggestion for your Asparagus Bottoms: Save them to Boil and Create a Stock for Soup.

  • Than you..great idea!

  • this might be a dumb question but what is tempeh?

  • Tempeh is made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans and/or other grains into a cake form. It's often used as a neat substitute because f its high protein content and texture. A lot people would like to try it, but don't know how to prepare it, hence this video.

  • oooh ok thanks... so is it some what similar to tofu? this looks really yummy i'm going to try it out and see how it tastes

  • Similar in that it's made from soybeans, but the creation process, nutritional value and texture are all quite different. Most people who are into natural living would say that tempeh is better for you because it is fermented soybeans and therefore less processing is involved than in the making of tofu. Indeed, give it a try, and please post here and let us all know what you think!

  • Do you throw away the asparagus bottoms?

  • yes...they're very fibrous and tough to eat.

  • Great camera angle!

  • thank you,

  • Great food & how did you achieve the overhead angle? It really helped me to focus an each step!

I want to use more flax oil & seed in my diet, any other recpes?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Thank you for the props. The camera is mounted to a "C-Stand" - something we use in the film industry. Took me two days to figure it out. And, I have two more recipes I've shot, and hope to have them posted by late Saturday.

  • Thanks for the recipe, That camera angle is a good one for showing whats going on, many thanks,

  • Thank you. I wasn't sure about that camera angle, since it isn't what's normally used. I appreciate the feedback.
