  • Great for a first time comp. I have never done one. But have seen lot of comps. Great going.

  • I'm one of the envious one's since I'm in Oregon. If you want to see how far behind we are due to the West Coast cool and wet year so far, check out my videos.

What types of birds are getting the tomatoes? I know raccoons will usually pick them the night before they are normally harvested, smart critters they are.

Thanks for sharing your harvest with us!

  • Great harvest ;o) which part of usa u live?

  • @vnswamy2008 Thanks. I'm in the south east US in Georgia

  • Looking great. jealous of those bell peppers. how are the onions doing?

  • @redherringbone I pulled them up last month. They didn't grow big, but you can eat them at any size. I put corn in their place.

  • :O Awesome!. I have tons of jalapenos XD. We fry them and dip them in ranch, or make jalapeno poppers.

    Omnomnom.

  • Dammit! I am getting very frustrated watching other peoples harvest videos (no offense!) Being in So Cal, I thought I would be way ahead of everyone....other than some peas and 3 cherry tomatoes I'm still waiting.....

  • @RookieGardner Well not sure what the weather has been like there, but the heat here in Ga always seems to make things grow fast. But as I've commented before it hurts the tomatoes a little

  • @RookieGardner Old saying is, the difference between a good gardener and a bad one, is one week.. Meaning, the one starting at the right time, will always get the fastets, biggest, and best crop. :)

  • Great to see the bounty. Looks like you're having another successful year. Hey, try smoking some of those!

    Regards, Gary

  • Ahhh!! I'm so jealous of your zucchini. My fruits keep dying when they're small, even when I pollinate the ones that make it with a paintbrush still die soon after. Have you ever had this problem?

  • Nice harvest!

  • WOW! that is a lot!!!! Awsome!

  • thanks for taking the time to film and post these, i think i speak for everyone when i say we really appropriate it.

  • great harvest Jason..keep up the good work!!!

  • That's impressive. See those big zucchinis... I make casserole sauces and add onion, garlic, chillis, stock and freeze them. They work beautifully with pork and chicken later. Just defrost, brown the meat, and throw the lot in the oven. Also works well, just as a sauce, with pasta.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • It's nice to see you had some luck with the Mr. Stripey. That was my worst tomato plant last year. It only produced a few tomatoes for some reason. I'm sure it depends on our climates too though. It's quite possible that Mr. Stripey hates 110 degree heat :P

  • @ASFx2600 Yeah they are doing ok for me this year. Not as good as some of the other tomatoes.

  • You'll have a salad fit for a King.

  • Nice Haul! I love Cherokee Purple too.

  • @sthier24 They are by far my favorite tomato. Lots of good flavor.

  • huge amount of vegetables like I said last year and this year you are very lucky that you are able to harvest more then once a year and your vegetables are huge. You should be thrilled.

  • @crewlla The long summer makes it nice though the heat does tend to abuse the tomatoes.

  • holy cow! that it a ton of vegetables!!!!!!

  • looks yummy.. yup, now, let the eating begin

  • Nice mess of vegetables. Time for some good eating ! :-)

  • I was wondering when you were gonna make a harvest vid.Nice stuff man.

  • @odeed Thanks. Gonna get some mad pickling on soon.

  • Looks great! I have a really good recipe for a chocolate cake made with grated zucchini and it is wonderful. Let me know if you want the recipe. I pm it to you. Noreen : )

  • @atticus9799 Thanks Noreen. I'm actually thinking about shredding and freezing a bunch of the zucchini for bread and other stuff. They are going crazy. Got any good zucchini bread recipes?

  • when you open a can save the lid. Punch a hole in it and hang it to your trees / plants with fishing wire or w/e you want. It will keep the birds away

  • Get an owl and see how that does. I have seen people put cd's, pie pans, and shiny streamers out to keep the birds away. I had a decent harvest today. Tomatoes have been cranking up. I planted mostly from seed this year and I swear those Bonnie plants produce better than anything. I don't know why but they seem to. Especially peppers.

  • @pantherfan3763 Like a real owl :)? That would be awesome. They actually seemed to have backed off a little. The bonnie plants do grow great. I can't do anything wrong with the peppers. Really easy.

  • @14dollarz bobblehead owl works great.
