  • Thanks! BTW – you can learn to play the piano in half the time with new gadget that reads MIDI files.

    Google “Gizmag and PianoMaestro”

  • This is nice. I'm doing a project for my production class. The piano stays on that A minor.

  • Hi, i'm from brazil, very good web teacher Thx

  • nice, thank you!!

  • i think the musical segment from

6:46 to 7:08 is as lovely as anything ive ever heard

i realize it's only a short improvisation but that really doesnt matter

its melancholy recalls to me someone i miss terribly

somehow the notes the piano plays reflect thoughts

like looking down from the footbridge of a tiny pond and dropping a pebble into the water below ... then watching the circles ripple away

  • Just wanted to let you know that your lessons are well apreciated

  • Thank you thank you - I just cannot thank you enough other than to thank you - sorry i have limited vocab - but hey i want to really really thank you. Again thank you truly.

  • Thank you. Beautiful voicings, simply explained. I noticed that the third voicing is two sets of stacked fifths, left hand on the tonic, right hand on the minor third. Helps me grab them quickly.

  • maybe 1 day i may be able to call myself a musician, now tho just a very humble student of the piano. it is a daunting instrument -- to say the least

utoob provides such a goldmine of instruction, & sir your videos are as important as i've seen. t/y very much

the improv beg @ 6:50 sounds like something the masterful lyle mays might do; that only makes your video that much more impressive

many ?s but this comment just to say thanks

  • thank you so much for your effort in making these videos... waiting with antisipation for the next. thanks again, mark p.

  • Plus he is always smirking:D LMFAO

  • I'm gonna beat you up MF and that won't be much of a smirk:D I hope you have a good sense of humour because I was kidding:) Keep posting these wonderful videos;) It's lovely to learn from them

  • Love the accent too:)

  • i havent seen all he videos yet

but i am thankfull for your work

    we all apreciate it

it helps me a lot using my keyboard in making instrumentals

i used to only work with my ears

i think this will help me make some progress towards quick producing

  • Did you by any chance read Dave Stewart's books on music? Because he talks about some very similar things, when it comes to chord voicings and harmony.

  • I used to read his keyboard magazine columns in the 90s. Can't say I've read something along these lines. This particular way of looking at voicing was picked off a seminar I once saw of the legendary George Duke. It stuck with me ever since and has proved itself to be a highly effective way of thinking about the subject.

  • excellent teaching. i am excited and am practicing

    clear explanations thanks man
