I love Amy's philosophy about music, I totally agree with her. Amy herself was a great interpreter of lyrics, she made the *sound* of her voice interesting, she accented words with a distinct emphasis. What she says about Fitzgerald is true, she was pitch-perfect and pristine technically but didn't convey the same emotive quality Sarah Vaughn or Dinah Washington did. If you listen to any of Amy's covers, she makes them her own the way Sarah Vaughan used to do with standards. I'll love Amy 4ever.
