  • i miss christmas! its still july.. sigh

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Sunshine State

  • BobDylan? Didn't know he did Xmas music. Noone beats the Moody Blues. Xmas or otherwise!

  • Nobody can pull it off quite like Justin-even after all these years! Merry Christmas everyone!

  • @tayasgram Bob Dylan's x mas songs are better but the old moody blue's is okish when there's nothing else to do.

  • the best version..! John & Justin Hayward Rocks !

  • 1:56- 1:59 :')''

  • Well done, lads! Hadn't heard this before... thanks for the upload.

  • Lovely love hearing the mesh of John and Justin!

  • How can anyone possibly really listen to this song and its message and not be filled with Love and Hope for his fellow man? May God shower you all with an abundance of Blessings now and always.

  • The origin of this song is nothing but Catholic. It's an Italian instrumental song dated 1974, "Soleado" by the band "Daniel Sentacruz Ensemble". It became a Catholic hymn after it was in the O.S.T. on a tv-movie about Jesus called "Nazareno" (never broadcasted in Italy)

  • Beautiful song and very well done. The Seekers version is also worth a listen (as of course is anything sung by Judith Durham.)

  • i love this version a lot. didn't know the moody blues covered this beautiful tune. thank you!

  • My absolute favorite part of the whole, entire year, is when my family and I sit together on our couch, and look at our Christmas tree, at 11:59 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Then, at exactly 12:01, the same station always plays this song. This song makes me so proud to be Catholic.

  • TY TRICIA YES IT IS BEAUTIFUL troutlord1 simply beautiful POST & SHARE TY TRICIA

  • May we all believe in humans' ability to live peace. This fine song reminds us of our potential. Happy Christmas, everyone.

  • I agree. A lot. A very Merry Christmas to you, too.

  • all you seem to talk about is Jesus so I will play ahead with you. Jesus does not have to be our lives just as long as you always have him in your heart. If you really love Jesus till the end of the world, that is what church is for.I bet some people in this chat go to church every Sunday. I do sometimes myself. But I rally think I do not need to go EVERY Sunday.Jesus just knows that we care for him and love him with our hearts. I pray before bed too.Let the love of Jesus always be with us forever

  • Don't get confuse, if you reject HIM, is your choice. He wont be able to speak in your favor, since you rejected him.

  • @piontro HE was just a nice guy who died a long time ago. Let him go. We need to focus on improving ourselves, and nobody can do that you.

  • @BTLfanIam, oops- I mean, nobody can do that but you.

  • @BTLfanIam Could not be more wrong.

  • i had song this song in school. it is truly a beautiful fir anyone who hears it.I am catholic and I wish that who ever really listens to this song listen carefully and just think of the night you were born. And how happy your parents were. The dreams coming true....having a child...that is you.

    from,

  • This song tell us about Jesus birth. Is not just a common baby, is about the salvation of those who believe in HIM. The Catholic church doesn't believe in Jesus, they have a legion of so called saints and have two pagan symbols in the Vatican. The Obelisk and the eight part wheel

  • I've got toadmit, I am slightly amused at your comment. Every Christmas my family and I play this great version of this wonderful song. And every Christmas, as though on cue, there is always an evangelical person whose faith is lacking and they're looking for a scapegoat so they blame God's one True Church, the Catholic Church, for not believing in Our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray one day that you and many like you will wake up to the reality of your sin. Why do you make up such tripe anyway?

  • Comment removed

  • @BTLfanIam Ok, I suppose there are a few religions that are all-right, and peaceful. Like Buddhism for example. They don't try and force it on you.

  • It's so sad to read a comment like yours. You are assuming too much. How much do you know about Catholicism and church history? Do you have any proof and/or analysis for such a sweeping statement? Or was it just based on your pastor's interpretation of the Bible or what you hear in your church's pulpit? Do you think you have the character of a TRUE Christian with what you wrote? I have many Protestant friends but they don't say anything like what you posted here. God bless you!

  • love it

    happy xmas everyonexxx

  • God Bless The Moody Blues...I love how they did this song!

  • Tasteful as always. A classic band.

  • I'II Second That...

  • A wonderful song by one of the greatest musical groups ever. Justin Hayward and the Moodys are terrific..

    Capt Sam

  • I can say this and I didn't have to see the video. Listen to the lyrics, is about Jesus being born, and taking away all the sin, is the same as a baby, it has no sin or hate only love. From my point of view.

  • Nice try, ticovaldezmd. It just occurred to me that one of the reasons I truly love this group is their honesty and integrity. They did it their way and for that we have been truly blessed. Thank you Moody Blues for forty years of exciting, thought provoking, charming songs. Long live your memory.

  • Every time a baby is born in the hospital, a lullaby plays in the overhead -- and can be heard loud throughout the hospital -- to signal that special event. Now though, the lullaby they play is the ugliest piece of 'music' I've ever heard. So, I have lobbied FOR MONTHS to replace it with THIS song.

But the admin. kept saying NO, because ''When A Child is Born' is a Christmas song. They can't use a song that is affiliated with any religion, or they'll get complaints. Oh well .... I tried.

  • .....These Guys..... Are So..... Excellent......

  • This is so beautiful. The Moodies do such a wonderful job on this one. Even commenting on this is bringing tears to my eyes. When I think of "a" child, I think of THE child-- Jesus Christ, who came to save us all. Thank you for posting this.

    Love, Jusfriend

  • Could someone please post the 45 version by Michael Holm? I bought it back in high school (January 1975) and just loved it, even though I only ever heard it on the radio a few times "back in the day," I've not been able to forget.

  • Yes! This is the version I've been looking for. Thanks!

  • May you find the inner peace and light that is within you. Look out into the Universe. See what God continues to do. Do not confuse God with religion. They are 180 degrees apart. You feel the warmth of an Angel in your arms. Then you will understand his true meaning. Peace be with you always. Your friend Bob

  • though we do not follow the Christian religion we can appreciate the beauty of this song. Those who believe that God is Love (and/or Goddess) can join in feeling that positive energy throughout the world. We are the love that we manifest

  • I love moody blues songs

    they go into your soul

    and heart.

  • superbe !!!

    ces voix !!! wouaw !!!

je ne me souviens pas de cette sublime chanson !!

    très belle vidéo !!!

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the original piece of music this is based on - is it the St Anthony Chorale? Beautiful video btw, thanks :)

  • I should have stated that i been studying with the Jehovah Witnesses.

  • December the 25th does not appear in the Bible. The truth is, Jesus was born at the time of the Roman Census, which was probably not exactly on the 25th of Dec. But be careful- a lot of things the Jehovah's Witnesses say do not appear in the Bible.

They have been wrong about Jesus' return over and over. They also believe that when one dies, they cease to be- go to Sheol, and not to Heaven- Luke 16:22; John 14:2. God bless you truly.

  • Wake up,Be an individual,Do not let Satan control you like that you gulible fool

  • I love this song, but i was just reading some comments, my husband and i been studying the bible for a while, and the ones who do the study with us, showed us a passage in the bible, that the dec 25 was not actually the day jesus was born. I was so stunned, cause all my live i grew up catholic, and we were always told christmas we jesus birthday.

  • Great song--beautiful meaning. And "eshto" and "todayfaith", you can learn to make your points without resorting to being assholes. You don't seem to understand the meaning of the song or the day. Please learn not to leap to anger the minute someone doesn't see things exactly as you do.

  • At lot of people think christmas is for present's & want snow, how many people know

the real christmas celebration's, there was no snow when Jesus was born or santa clause

Jesus bring's in Love & Forgiveness & a second chance to live with him in eternal life

    in a new Heaven,

I am glad I bought my kid's up with the real christmas & now my grandkid's too, & DONT FORGET DONT DRINK & DRIVE.

  • Actually Christmas was a Pagan holiday that was later appropriated by Christians.

And you don't need an apostrophe every time you write a plural word.

  • Well it's about time some one changed it to the proper meaning as today's kid's need to know the real meaning

  • And you dont know anything about Christianity

because your profile say's it all.

  • Why dont you take your teddy & dummy to bed

    with you.

Its 2008 now get with it not in the past.

"LOL" oops sorry I woke you up.

  • A beautiful song!!! Thanks for posting.

  • ...and nice video:)

  • Best version of this song I've heard - beautiful! Thanks :)

  • were singing this in chorus i luv it

  • Ya know, this is the only version of this beautiful song that changes the word "star" in the original to "spark." Heaven forbid that this song ever be thought to be about the Messiah!

    Reality...

  • i am hoping to b forgiven for all ym sin and iwant to have an family.

  • hey, you're forgiven, Christ died for you and for me. No matter how dark your sins are, nobody can accuse you, JESUS washed away any guilt when you repented.Ok, keep going, remember GOD loves you.family, you'll have a big one.
