the kids today will never understand the greatest music of all time - the british invasion !!!!!!! iam "glad all over " that i grew up with this great music !!! bd
The very first record I ever bought , way back in '63(64?) It was an instant big hit and rapidly sold out. I could've sold that record a hundred times over ,everyone wanted it! Here in England I think it was on the Parlophone label
the first rock n roll 45 I was able to buy for myself! I got it for sending in Clark Bar wrappers. I had to listen to it in my closet cause my dad didn't like that new kind of music!!
i know someone who cut a cardbourd dc 5 record off a cereal box catch us if you can and a dj said his mother wouldnt let him buy the record 100 pounds of clay by gene mcdaniel because dorothy kilgalan said it was sacrilegeous and another guy said his mother wouldnt let him buy the record wild weekend because he might act too wild.

Clark was/is is a waste, its all he coul do to play drums, let alone sing, Mike%Lenny wrote most the songs while dickhead clrak took credit for co-writing, It sholud have been him dying of CA rather than Denny.

DC5 only had two successful singles and tht was tht rly.Meanwhile the Beatles were having singles topping the charts every month. The Drum used in the chorus is terrible.
Way more than only two successful singles... What about "Bits and Pieces", "Because", "Any Way You Want It", "Come On Home", "Having A Wild Weekend", "Catch Us If You Can", "Over and Over", "I Like It Like That", "Try Too Hard", "At The Scene", "Everybody Knows", "You Got What It Takes", etc.
That's why I find it so strange that, at least in the U.S., it's almost impossible to find DC5 CD's. They were a VERY successful band ("Because" being my personal favorite). I've actually got DC5's "Coast to Coast" on Vinyl, which had the single "Everybody Knows". What's more, the DC5 were inducted into the R&R H.O.F. last year, which was awesome.
@VinylRecords60 You got that right. I had their greatest hits album and lost it back in the 70s. Can't find them on a CD. They got caught in between the Beatles and Stones. I saw them in concert back in 1964 in Baltimore.

i went to school with dave,i had a fight with him........i lost, got my 1st black eye.....still it was good to see him get on in the world,as for me iam just an old man now.....
To "alreadyou"...Man, I gotta hear about this fight! How old were you guys? What was it over? And....did you and Dave ever patch it up? Quite frankly, pretty much all the guys I had fistfights with back in "the day" turned out to be my closest, dearest friends. Funny how that works out.
I'll bet if you were to run into Dave now, you'd slap each other on the back, walk into a pub, and laugh like hell. Godbless...Joel in Tucson.
What do you think Dave Clark does not understand about "success breeds success"? He, or his music company(ies?) didn't release a CD of their hits until approximately 30 years later. And the CD didn't even come close to as good as the original music (not as if the CD got much publicity either!).
The DC5 were really good. I'd think they'd want the "younger generation" to have an opportunity to know how good they were. And I'll bet some of his bandmates wouldn't mind being "recognized" again.
The Animals had very big hits in Canada. They were more popular as DC5. "House of the Rising Sun", "Don't let me be Misunderstood", "Don't bring me down", "See See Rider" were TOP 5 Hits. And ERIC BURDON & THE ANIMALS were also a popular band with "When I was Young", "San Franciscan nights", "Ring of Fire", "Sky Pilot" and "Monterey" (#3). And when did DC5 split?
the dc5 were very big during this period. Historically, in the early period there were Beatles, the Dave Clark 5, the Animals, Stones, Kinks. those were the predominant groups. Glad all Over was a very big song at that moment. In this age of multi group....who really cares... in the early days of groupism...the dc5 and this song were very big. Dave, if you read this please comment?
