It should also be noted that Skeletor...the comic version...did end up killing He-Man with a blast from his Havoc staff. He-Man, as he was dying, THREW his Sword of Power and impaled Skeletor, killing him as well. Then, some weird mystical crap happened and He-Man was healed by some mystical goofiness, his Sword using Skeletor's magic/body to fuel itself and healing He-Man, bringing him back to life.

Skeletor is awesome, and while he DID take it to Superman in a crossover...so did Venom. Crossover's aren't exactly the best evidence of a "fight", as both companies/character's typically get to "look good".

I always liked the old Hordak. Technology subjugating magic was a great theme, very much like sci-fi crushing fantasy in terms of popularity, or science vs.religion, or real-world vs. imagination and fun. He could shapeshift, but was said to have a mechanical body. That means he was made of nanites, folks. Way before its time. Plus he had the most intimidating toy in the series, bar none.

@Dragonrider1227 Hordak was all kinds of dark when you get down to it. For one thing, he was a veiled Nazi reference. Hordak/Hitler, Randor/Roosevelt. The Horde Troopers were clearly inspired by Stormtroopers, themselves named after Hitler's shock troops. And they wore black-and-red armbands bearing their totalitarian faction logo on the left side. Factor in the creep factor of honest-to-god bloodsucking freaks Leech and Mosquitor in an 80's line, experimental cyborgs, mind control...

Interesting points you make. I knew little of Hordak outside of the She-Ra cartoon and even though he and the Horde had potential (I mean, the series has them already ruling the world) I never really thought it was met. Until now anyway :D

Oh yes. Hordak realized Eternia was un-conquerable, so he kidnapped the Royal Family's infant daughter and carted her off to Etheria, where he raised her as his own, appointing her Force Captain. His minions included a creepy dark sorceress with a well-designed outfit, two blodsucking freaks, a gangly mantis-man, a brutal bear-beast who was spoken of in frightful whispers around campfires on Eternia, and a villager who had been subjected to (presumably uncomfortable) cyberware experiments.

-Kryptonite

-Extreme amounts of force/impact (e.g. a punch from Darkseid or Doomsday)

@darrenhigham You can't really say that magic is a weakness of Superman. Kryptonite is his weakness because it hurts him even more so than it does a normal human, but that isn't the case with magic. Magic affects him in the same way that it would anyone else, but he isn't hurt by magic more so than you or I would be.

@darrenhigham Actually, Kryptinions have no powers. The Planet itself made them normal humanoids which is why when superman comes into contact with a peice of Kryptonite, it represses his abilities and weakens him. A body used to superpower suddenly becoming normal fatigues the crap out of him. As for magic, I would have to agree with you two. It does seem like it completly negate his super abilities. Either way...Skeletor is awesome. ^_^

This is a nice video editing of the new series final episodes. Those scenes happened in Eternia's past when the Evil Horde defeated King Hiss & his Snakemen, h tthen marched against Castle GraySkull and King Grayskull the original giant sized He-Man gave up his life stoping Hordak. As for Skeletor he serves Hordak he never fights him, he can't even defeat King Hiss. Hordak nevermakes it tote pesent and thus never faces He-Man and the series gets cancelled,, the End.

Arrogance! Hordak and Kiss Hiss were sweet rulers but, Skeletor was a scavenger who took pages from both their books to excel to a greater evil. He eventually (in the story) becomes more powerfully than the horde and snakemen combine. That's just my opinion dude.
