i think that welfare, medicaid, and disability fraud needs to be investigated strongly in the black community. i work as a social worker with a largely black community, and i can tell you that most will find a way not to work if they can.. including having children. it is not so much about color of skin, but income level, and there is this culture that says its okay to be on assistance and in public housing. the CULTURE has to change... blacks have to look inside.

Yo, white poverty is a big problem in the Appalachians and such. Hell, eugenics programs targeted whites in the 1920s and '30's. We cant trust the government to decide who gets sterilized.

I agree with everything you said here, it's just too bad that most "leaders" in the black community don't. I think you should check out guys like Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson from LA, even that nut job Alan Keyes, these men are willing to say what makes people uncomfortable and not coddle black folks like they are all toddlers.

I agree with you that current black "leaders" such as sharpton, jackson, angela davis, types like that do nothing but blame problems on others. but i would never recommend anybody listen to anything alan keyes has to say.. afterall, he disowned his own daughter b/c she's a lesbian. how "family values" is that. blacks need a leader who makes them uncomfortable, not someone who justifies their current problems. right now, the leaders are all enablers.

Yeah, AK is crazy but he has written some brilliant stuff about possible roots for some of the problems facing the black community.
