  • This piece is incredibly well put together.

    nice

  • Heel mooi. Danke je wel

  • Ciao a tutti appassionati audiofili.

  • No matter the language - She was and still is the BEST.

A proposito, sicuramente la conoscerai...in caso contrario ascolta I'm a Fool to Want You,della straordinaria Billie Holiday.

  • Well said, an education gives you facts, knowledge and joy of a subject comes from the heart. Your taste in newspapers may be a little questionable, but your sentiment is correct,in my humble opinion, peace and love bro:D from a fellow pleb with knowledge!!

  • CLASS IS RIGHT

  • Sheer class - there are no current female singers that could grace a stage with her. Her vocal quality is far too strong for the singers nowadays who use studios and auto tuners to make joe public believe they have talent. Dinah doesnt fool she is the real deal.

  • Amen to That My Friend.... You'll never beat The Greats... I'm Only 35 yrs, and I know better.. Hal Mooney did Awsome Arangements

  • Moving, intense, unforgettable.

  • A little history- This song was written by Noel Coward for his lover. He was gay. He wrote both music and lyric.

  • OH MY GOSH!

    Her voice is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing this video with us!

  • I dedicate the song to my lovely wife en replace the word boy by girl. Thank you Dinah

  • Wow - beautiful and powerful. Thank You soooo much for posting!

  • I'm mad about the boy.....well....misery and joy

  • Thank's Dinah .. Beking from Republik of Kosova

  • drama

  • In the UK a poll by a popular paper listed the "100 greatest female singers" as voted by the public. Geri Halliwell was listed Dinah was not, WHAT THE BOLLOCKS? Geri should not have been listed Dinah should have been number 1. PROOF CONCLUSIVE THAT THE PUBLIC IS WRONG AND STUPID.

  • you are so right!!!!!!!!

  • It's pretty disgusting but to be fair, you an't expect your average Sun or Mirror reader to know much about music outside the current regurgitated pop pap.

I'm sure if the poll was done in The Times or Guardian, you would see no sign of Halliwel and Dina and Aretha et al would be right up there.

  • UM UM UM!!!

  • i'm falling in love when i heard this song.. again and again..

  • first ı heard this song,ıwas thirteen..ı'm thirty now,but never change that songs taste for me.bec its delicious

  • She makes you feel a sad and sensual melancholy

You need a glass of something and a cigarrete to hear this and get immerse! Don't you ?

  • The woman in the footage with boxer Joe Louis is not Dinah Washington.

  • At first glance, I did not think so either. But if you look at it long enough, you will see that it is indeed Dinah

  • No, it is not.

  • What a wonderful voice and charming. No Cher or Diana Ross singing this song Dinah is still the best one. Great and superior performance.

  • Fantastic!

  • Dinah Washington was the ultimate Diva and oh, that voice...she could sing anything and turns this great Noel Coward ballad inside out and nobody can touch this brilliant performance...Bravo Dinah!!!

  • This song means so much to me for so many reasons.

Dina was a diva in her era without a doubt!

  • Dinah Washington was the ultimate singer & performer. She was adored and admired. Her star went dim far too soon. I can recognise her voice regardless of the song. Yes, her voice still leaves me spellbound and breathless. Diva, icon, Dinah Washington is a classic.

  • who was the other lady?

  • I'm 44 yo and she makes me cry. How can it be ?

  • it's normal...it'a wonderful song...and i'm "only" 26 yo

  • SOULFUL,classic singer!!

  • This is THE best version of the song. A tour de force.

  • che voce!!!!

  • Nice sound quality

  • Brilliant:)

  • However, it should be noted that when she died at Christmastime, 1963, she was only 39 years old, but married to her seventh husband...football legend Dick "Night Train" Laine!

  • She was the greatest blues singer in the world. I'm sure she would have been a much bigger star (more broad-based stardom including many more television guest spots and engagements at more major night clubs) had she just fit the more sexy imagage required of (especially) black singers of the day. I believe continual, excessive use of diet pills, mixed with a huge intake of booze and the obligatory sleeping pills, is probably what killed her.

  • She seemed to have run the gamut from pleasingly plump, to fat, to skinny and everything in between. I am reminded of Luther Vandross.

  • I'll take Howlin' Wolf over her for blues singing, but greatest pop singer in the world sounds about right.

  • A true Diva !!

  • I do love this song. And to Shilohdream, she died of an overdose of sleeping medication (accidental), 1963. It's sad how her life ended.

  • DOES anyone know what she died from?

  • She died in December 1963 from an lethal overdose of drugs (diet pills) and alchohol. Her death was ruled an accident.

  • She was a treasure. Thank you so very much for this posting!!!

  • J'aime bien !

  • que voz maravilhosa!

  • ı am mad about this song..

  • One of the most wonderful songs ever recorded! I love this version. Dinah's voice is unique! Sad that she left us so soon....

  • TrUE! The song is grEat! Voice is StrOng! She was LOVELY!
