When ice greaks away from a glacier, that's not melting. It's called "calving," and it happens when a glacier grows so large that it can no longer support the weight. It has nothing to do with "Global Warming."

@detroitmi Old world maps in school showed a northern ice cap included as part of world geography. Google earth shows undersea terrain and no evidence at all of any ice cap at the north pole. How then can people say the north pole is melting if there is no satellite footage of the supposed "ice cap?" A few icebergs are floating around for sure but reports of a melting polar ice cap? Global warming is a tool to get our tax dollars to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

The polar ice cap is sea based ice. It is a big sheet of ice floating in the ocean. If it melts it will not raise sea levels. Antarctica and the Greenland Ice Sheet are land based ice, as in ice attached to land. If they melt, they will raise sea levels.

I agree we need to cut back on pollution. If they tax all of the big high pollution companies, those taxes will be passed on to you and me as product price increases whether it is electric power or an actual product we purchase, we will pay. I have been reading a-lot about how they are going to make people pay a tax on the amount of miles they drive and this is being develped in the UK or somewhere in europe....It will involve a GPS tracking system on your car. There are other taxes in work to.

Of course many other sites or places offer info also. You may not like alex jones but many of his articles come from credible organizations and media sources..I am sceptical of some of his articles though. I talk to people who bring up these issues and thay are like alex who, so they are getting info elsewhere.

Damn straight. Our house is heated by wood. Our thermostats are not passed 65 degrees. We are turning off lights and power boxes when we don't use them. We got rid of our GM gas guzzlers and bought fuel efficient Hondas and we love them. If you don't want to pay so much, don't use so much. co2 has alot more to do with it then you think. Imagine the Earth as a large car. sunlight and heat are able to enter but but the windows (co2 in this case) that cover the car only allow a small amount of the energy to escape. "Cause and effect". In this case the "Cause" is the natural warming of the earth plus the surplus of co2 in our atmosphere. The "Effect" worst warming period in our Earths history.

global warming (to me, at least) means a very slight and slow warming of our planet's average temperature over about 100 years. However, global warming is caused for the most part by solar activity and the axis of Earth as pole shifts move 'magnetic north' every so often.

when the icecaps on sea is gone the tempureture increases faster on the poles, course the seawater absorbs the heat from the sun.
The world tempereture is still increasing fast.
All this leads only too one conclusion. The icecaps on Greenland, Southpole and other places will melt in a increasing fast rate.
