Brother, I think you are very confused, because what you have said you believe and what I have said I believe are polar opposites of each other. You say Christ died for all, but he died for the elect (John 10:11). You say salvation is a matter of man's free will, but its of God's (Eph 1:5). You say salvation is about an opportunity, but it's about grace (Eph 2:8-9) You say all are sheep, but some are not (John 10:26). Do you want evangelical tradition and fanfare - or the word of God?

They were all by nature children of wrath, even as others (Eph 2:3) who were not chosen by God to shed his mercy upon (Rom 9:18). People do not believe to BECOME sheep, they believe because they ARE sheep (John 10:27). One does not believe to get "in Christ", being "in Christ" is why one believes. (John 8:47). You say "any can", Christ said, "no man can..." (John 6:44).

"According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love." The choice in view here is pretemporal (before the foundation of the world), it is "in Christ", and is prior to either conversion or church membership since it is before the dawn of time. "And BECAUSE YE ARE SONS God hath sent forth the spirit of His son into your hearts crying Abba, Father." (Gal 4:6). That verse teaches that it is the fact that you already ARE a son that God regenerated you and gave you the faith to believe. That's a DEEP truth - if you enter into it. Blessings.

@theearstohear Paul refers to the elect as those who have already benefited from their election, but God views their condition prior to all that His activity will produce. The objects of election are unbelievers, who will become believers on account of their election. Eph2:3 is referring to all who hav not been saved including the saved when they were still of the world. in reference to rom 9:8 u can check this out if u want

Some will call churches cult just because they don't fit in their cute little box. I have known people that said that about a church I attended years ago and when asked why they believe that, it was because they didn't believe exactly like them or the church was just too large it suppose to stay small. The one thing missing from this service is a successful savior. Sadly this group proclaims a Christ that died for everyone and yet some are still not saved. If one preached the Christ of the bible to this crowd, a Christ that died for the sheep (John 10:11) and who actually saved them (Heb 10:14) by his own obedience (Rom 5:19), not by theirs, you would likely empty this auditorium of disciples as surely as when Jesus preached he was sovereign in salvation (John 6:65-66).

No one can force salvation on anyone, It is a choice, a free will choice.There are a lot of churches around the world that preach Jesus and still people refuse. Gospel truth is that Jesus died for the sheep (John 10:11) and not all are sheep (John 10:26). Salvation is not a matter of man's free will (Rom 9:16), it is a matter of God's free will (Eph 1:5). To one of a similar misunderstaning the Lord once said, "Ye worship ye know not what." (John 4:22)
@theearstohear If Jesus only died for the sheep, then how can one be saved. Since we weren't not sheep. We had to come to the knowledge of Jesus to accept what he did on the cross. The sheep he's referring to is the ones who believe in him. He had to died for all of humanity. Jesus had come to saved the lost. I believe I understand what you're trying to communicate but applying to the wrong area. God gives everyone the opportunity to be saved, some choose not to take it.

"Acceptance" of Christ's work doesn't MAKE it effectual, it believes that it WAS effectual. The good shepherd looks for lost sheep, not goats. Salvation is not by "opportunity"; salvation is by grace. (Eph 2:8-9). Consider: If Christ died for the sheep (John 10:11) and some are not sheep (John 10:26) does it not follow that he did not die for them?

That's what salvation is about, in 2 Peter 3: 9 "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." (NASB) Notice the Scriptures state that God doesn't want any to perish.There are only 2 that had roles for perishing Judas & the antichrist.

"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of ONE shall many be made righteous." (Rom 5:19) Faith is a fruit of salvation (Gal 5:22), not a prerequisite to salvation that effectuates the atonement. You need to look at who is addressed in II Pet 3:9 - "you" which is believers (II Peter 1:1). Search for "Office Theology 109 - II Pet 3:9" for a fuller explanation.

Palestinian Muslim children are taught to hate their Jewish neighbors. As a result, they grow up hating Jews, despite never really understanding why. God actually agreed that if He found just 10 righteous people out of the hundreds or thousands of people residing there, He would spare them. (According to archeological findings, Sodom was estimated to be home to around 600-1200 people.) That seems like a pretty good deal to me: 10 people out of, say, 800. But there were only 4. (Lot's two son-in-laws didn't buy the "fire and brimstone" thing.)

("...for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways." - Gen. 6:12) Genesis 6:8-9 says that Noah found favor with God. He was "righteous, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.", which is why, in the end, he and his family was saved. In Genesis 9:8-16, God creates the rainbow as a sign of His promise that a flood will never again destroy earth.

This means that there are some legitimate theological statements revealed in these texts, but much of it is HEAVILY influenced by people's viewpoints/agendas. So, I take it as my responsibility as a Christian to discern what things are relevant to me today. Everybody picks and chooses. It's necessary. That's why Christianity is a revealed religion.

Faith is something we hope for and certain of what we do not see. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrew 11:1-3
God does love us, he loved us so much he sent his only son to die for us so that our sins maybe forgiven. God is love despite what you have done he will forgive you because we are living in a period called grace and mercy. The bible does not recognise atheism. you know there is a God, and what you are doing according to {Romans 1:18-23} you are doing everything in your wickedness to suppress every truth you know about him and the reason why is because you do not want to submit to him.

Brother, I think you are very confused, because what you have said you believe and what I have said I believe are polar opposites of each other. You say Christ died for all, but he died for the elect (John 10:11). You say salvation is a matter of man's free will, but its of God's (Eph 1:5). You say salvation is about an opportunity, but it's about grace (Eph 2:8-9) You say all are sheep, but some are not (John 10:26). Do you want evangelical tradition and fanfare - or the word of God?

They were all by nature children of wrath, even as others (Eph 2:3) who were not chosen by God to shed his mercy upon (Rom 9:18). People do not believe to BECOME sheep, they believe because they ARE sheep (John 10:27). One does not believe to get "in Christ", being "in Christ" is why one believes. (John 8:47). You say "any can", Christ said, "no man can..." (John 6:44).

The choice in view here is pretemporal (before the foundation of the world), it is "in Christ", and is prior to either conversion or church membership since it is before the dawn of time. "And BECAUSE YE ARE SONS God hath sent forth the spirit of His son into your hearts crying Abba, Father." (Gal 4:6). That verse teaches that it is the fact that you already ARE a son that God regenerated you and gave you the faith to believe. That's a DEEP truth - if you enter into it. Blessings.

@theearstohear Paul refers to the elect as those who have already benefited from their election, but God views their condition prior to all that His activity will produce. The objects of election are unbelievers, who will become believers on account of their election. Eph2:3 is referring to all who hav not been saved including the saved when they were still of the world. in reference to rom 9:8 u can check this out if u want

The one thing missing from this service is a successful savior. Sadly this group proclaims a Christ that died for everyone and yet some are still not saved. If one preached the Christ of the bible to this crowd, a Christ that died for the sheep (John 10:11) and who actually saved them (Heb 10:14) by his own obedience (Rom 5:19), not by theirs, you would likely empty this auditorium of disciples as surely as when Jesus preached he was sovereign in salvation (John 6:65-66).

Gospel truth is that Jesus died for the sheep (John 10:11) and not all are sheep (John 10:26). Salvation is not a matter of man's free will (Rom 9:16), it is a matter of God's free will (Eph 1:5). To one of a similar misunderstaning the Lord once said, "Ye worship ye know not what." (John 4:22)

The sheep he's referring to is the ones who believe in him. He had to died for all of humanity. Jesus had come to saved the lost. I believe I understand what you're trying to communicate but applying to the wrong area. God gives everyone the opportunity to be saved, some choose not to take it.

"Acceptance" of Christ's work doesn't MAKE it effectual, it believes that it WAS effectual. The good shepherd looks for lost sheep, not goats. Consider: If Christ died for the sheep (John 10:11) and some are not sheep (John 10:26) does it not follow that he did not die for them?

"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of ONE shall many be made righteous." (Rom 5:19) Faith is a fruit of salvation (Gal 5:22), not a prerequisite to salvation that effectuates the atonement. You need to look at who is addressed in II Pet 3:9 - "you" which is believers (II Peter 1:1). Search for "Office Theology 109 - II Pet 3:9" for a fuller explanation.

@folabad Amen! Bible never teach Trinity or 3 persons in 1 Godhead, instead, it said that the Godhead dwells in Jesus Col. 2:8-10, God manifested Himself into flesh 1 Tim. 3:16. Palestinian Muslim children are taught to hate their Jewish neighbors. As a result, they grow up hating Jews, despite never really understanding why. In fact, they (the children) even go so far as to give up their lives as suicide bombers. They grow up with the same beliefs and faith as the people behind the 9/11 incident.

In the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:4 says that all the men of the cities, both YOUNG AND OLD, gathered around the house of Lot and asked for the 2 men (the angels) to be brought out so they could have sex with them. That's not exactly "innocent".

God actually agreed that if He found just 10 righteous people out of the hundreds or thousands of people residing there, He would spare them. (According to archeological findings, Sodom was estimated to be home to around 600-1200 people.) That seems like a pretty good deal to me: 10 people out of, say, 800. But there were only 4. (Lot's two son-in-laws didn't buy the "fire and brimstone" thing.)

("...for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways." - Gen. 6:12) Genesis 6:8-9 says that Noah found favor with God. He was "righteous, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.", which is why, in the end, he and his family was saved. In Genesis 9:8-16, God creates the rainbow as a sign of His promise that a flood will never again destroy earth.

@TheRealityofNature You have a lot of good points. Here's the deal in a nutshell. Scripture is a compilation of human writings about God. This means that there are some legitimate theological statements revealed in these texts, but much of it is HEAVILY influenced by people's viewpoints/agendas. So, I take it as my responsibility as a Christian to discern what things are relevant to me today. Everybody picks and chooses. It's necessary. That's why Christianity is a revealed religion.
