  • Where can I get some tips on photography. I wanna get into it more.

  • @CelosTV watch Jared Polin's videos on youtube, really good for beginners through to pros

  • Do 3rd party diffusers/snoots have the same effect?

  • I have a Speed Snoot, the bad thing about it is causes heavy weight on that front part and tends to tip over if its off-camera, if its on camera its just heavy.

  • is the light-sphere worth the buy .. i am looking and getting one.. want to know if its worth the $60. bucks

  • How about a Stofen? Its pretty useful too.

  • @Mydecember1285 the problem with those flash "diffusers" is they really dont do anything. You may think it does but physics will disagree. The ONLY way to get softer light is to INCREASE the surface area of the flash. Bouncing flash off the ceiling creats a very large light source with a very large surface area. Putting one of those Stofen diffusers only lowers the total flash output. Hard light has hard shadows. Soft light should have very soft to almost no shadows at all.

  • @littlec916 The flash diffusers actually DO work... you just need to understand what it is they do! You are right in thinking that they do not make any difference to the light thrown forwards onto the subject BUT... the face of the diffuser is positioned about 2-3cm in front of the flash head and the surrounding body and some of the front face of the diffuser throws some scattered light around the room which is bounced onto the subject, softening the shadows caused by the flash.

  • @simonsgl I see what you are saying but why bother with the diffuser at all if you are bouncing the flash? The point of bouncing flash is to create soft shadows which means the diffuser is adding nothing to this.

  • I cant get my link to work so whatever. If you feel like checking my flickr the name is mrbubbles916. There is a photo of my cousins eye taken with my flash bounced onto the ceiling and wall behind me. The diffuser would have done nothing. Now...im not talking about anything but those sto-fen diffusers. I think the gary fong light spheres have a completely different result.

  • Nice video Mark

  • I'm making my own bounce cards. Its really easy and cheap. You need only few sheets of document printer paper and tape. I use cardboard to make sturdy base for it and it works like charm. You can make it in 30min

there are sample shots on my website
