@melissagrant Furthermore, how can you say that Matadors act purely out of courage, when they have a nice juicy salarly at the end of this? Thus bulls face death and this hardly compares. I can appreciate that several years ago this sport was a significant part of the culture;but in this day and age this kind of animal brutality shouldn't be permitted and I can't understand why some people don't get that.

@melissagrant there are other ways of being artistic that don't involve provoking and wounding an animal that is clearly helpless matched with several people with weapons; and yes, to some it may be regarded as 'bravery' but the bull's are forced into this behaviour- they are sturggling for their life because what other choice do they have?

Bullfighting is more than what its detractors claim. It is a combination of dance, costume, physical strength (of both bull and man) and human courage; there is nothing comparable and its fans are naturally unsatisfied by sports that offer only a part of these attributes (e.g., absent is the real danger that leads spectators to feel they are in the presence of amazing bravery, or the artistic element that makes it more aesthetic than any soccer match or football game).

@melissagrant If it was a true sport of strength, they wouldnt kill it to wear it out throught the fight. Matadors are cowards. Bullfight without the the stabbing to wear them out then i will believe its a sign of strength. Think that it'll endanger the persons life even more? Then get rid of the sport.

I have to say, after learning about the bullfighting tradition, I was a little disappointed to find out how it all works. I mean, this matador has an entire team with him against this one bull. My childhood imagination always gave me the impression that it was one man, one bull. That's how it should be done. You can see six to one in a slaughterhouse, but one on one, now that's a challenge! They can have their weapons due to the weight disadvantage, but six assistants? Get outta here...

No matter what your point of view is on bull fighting, and it being brutal and barbaric, It's entertainment to the country, crowd, and the participants (including the bull), and where it developed in and spreads to. Whether your against it or not. Just remember both the bull and fighter go down dying. Also even though the bull gets eaten after its death, at least they bring honor to themselves, and it wasn't directly shoved or lured to a slaughter house, like some you other countries

@TheDoctorGrenade They do, i went to a bull fight in spain, and had steak all night at the restaurant right out side of the arena, from the very bulls killed that day. That's how it's done.
