Those experiences are then wonderful inspiration for truly great art, I do not doubt that drugs have influenced some of the best art in history. However, to create something real, something that has value - artistic value - in the real world, you need to be attuned to the real world. That means you are going to be at your best while making art if you're sober, even if you got the idea high.

You could say that people that are sober are more attuned to the real world, but what if they're creation has more boundaries based on what they think is the real world. Because I don't think anyone sober or high has a consistent or perfect perception.
