  • I like Andy's coneys as well as Jaxon Coney Island. Once you've tried a Jackson style coney Detroit ones just don't taste right.

  • Thank you Christoff's for having employees wear gloves!

  • i am from Jackson born and raised til i was 24. i now live in San Diego CA. joined the military. anyways sometimes i miss Jackson but i must say that i never ate the coney dogs thats what we called them.

  • try beckys hot diggity dogs downtown jackson across from bucky harris park

  • What do you call a Coney Island hot dog in Florida? The Michigan Hot Dog,, either way you eat too many; you will get heartburn. Love Florida, but miss going to the Coney Island hot dog stands.

  • Hey Pete great looking coneys!...we have two here in Kalamazoo..one on Michigan street is the oldest it has been there for over 6o plus years!..and they are great! and then there is anew guy right next to the state theater...come on down and try em!

  • you need to go to bills hot dog stand in ypsilanti. then up the road to clucks drive in. for a foot long both been there from 1950

  • Pete, check out Bill's Hot Dog Stand in Ypsilanti, MI. It's a classic drive in that has been around since 1939! You can read my review of Bill's on Urbanspoon.

  • woot jack-town and i akways go to the coney island by the train place

  • hi Pete , thanks for the post. I have to ask which do you prefer? Detroit coney sauce, or Flint style sauce? I am opening my hot dog cart soon and will be using Koegels natural casing dogs. But I have to find a good sauce to put on them. So many recipes out there. You seem to know what you're tlaking about. What do you think? your input will be deeply appreciated. Thanks

  • @myway43

I llike both , just depends on where I am at the time....where is your cart gonna be??

    I need to stop there....

  • Yeah, I saw this guy making the coney dogs over the grill and he was sweating like a pig all over the food (HOW GROSS!!) at Virginia coney IsLAND==YUCK

  • Virginia coney island is better

  • @Bigbangproductions4u coney island origninated in michigan.

  • @Brettwbeyer14 i know coney island origionated in michigan but the virginia coney island is another restaurant right next to the jackson coney island....

  • You missed Rudy's Drive In , Page Ave. Michigan Center, Michigan. Just about 5-10 min from Christoffs Corner

  • If you want a good coney you have to go have Nick make you one at Andy's on Ganson St., they are the absolute best!!

  • i like christoffs the best.

  • Nobody cooks Coneys like Jacktown! Everybody has their favorite place but mine is Andys. Too bad Todoroffs closed.

  • I am from Jackson MI,born and raised. I moved to nw lower Mi. Boy, I sure do miss the coneys. Up here they think a coney is a chili dog. When any one comes up to visit they have to bring me coney sauce and onions and of course the yummy rice pudding.

  • I absolutely love the coneys from Andy's Pizza in Jackson. Along with many of their other menu items (pizza of course). I highly recommend everyone try them at least once. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you are spending your money locally. What more could you ask for?

  • I love Andy's! Probably my favorite place for pizza.

  • The Jackson Pizza Factory located on the corner of Waterloo and North claims to have the original recipe for coney sauce. It's also award winning. They're pizza is killer to.

  • Try "The Dog House" on Lansing Ave.

  • the dog house tastes like vomit

  • You should try Alpha Coney Island in the Jackson Crossing Mall.

  • I have worked in many restaurants in my life, including Alpha. It is the only place I have worked that I would NEVER eat at! I saw some of the most disgusting things I have ever seen in a restaurant going on there.

One thing that sticks out in my mind is a day, I was there working an early shift and they were serving breakfast. I watched the guy making omelets walk over to the hand washing sink, blow his nose into his hands, rinse (not wash) them off, and went back to preparing eggs. Stay away!
