  • i see what your saying but what if he combined his army with his allies army and made a even bigger phalanx with heavliy defended flanks and front

  • Well that´s probably the only way they could have beaten us, especially because we lacked missile troops. Anyway they didn´t and that proved to be a mistake. ; )

  • @Lycanpaester NOOB SQUARE SUX NO MATTER WAT

  • that defencive phalanx is just huge

  • Yup, but he only had two units facing my phalanx combination of 3 units per phalanx, so his troops were taken out pretty fast and effective. Allthough if he would have turned all of his units against mine, his phalanx would have been vulnerable for an flanking attack by my cavalry, so he was pretty much screwed no matter how you look at it. =)

  • gj man i liked it :)

  • Ty man glad you enjoyed it. =)

  • Personally I would use a couple of artillary units when fighting armies which tend to form into tight defensive blocks like the greeks.

The artillary stops them from bunching up in great hoplite formations - their greatest advantage

  • We played by cwb rules, and those do not allow any artillery. But if you meant archers, they were pretty much taken out by the opponents archers, so there was no actual use for them anymore.
