  • I would love to culture these cockroaches in the future!! What i would do is collect the eggs first, and when the eggs hatches, i will feed them with clean foods like dog foods, veggies, fruits, cricket foods, ets.. and feed them to my Tarantulas :D Cultured American Cockroaches are even safer to feed to your Tarantulas than catching the dirty ones that are caught outside eating dirty stuff. The only problem is figuring out a slippery tank since, these guys are good climbers and flyers!!

  • How did you catch those?

  • @RussX5Z They hang out under causeways here a lot at night, I use plastic containers. They're speedy but it's not usually too hard when they're on a wall.

  • @PenanggalanMonster Wow you are brave! Cause they scare the shit out of me! Ha ha ha!! I live in Hawaii and there are a trillion of those here. lol.

  • These roaches must be used to you handling them, because they seem quite relaxed and docile. :) Wild cockroaches will usually take off at the slightest vibration. That's actually what scares me most about them--they always seem to dart out of nowhere. I'm slowly trying to desensitize myself to them, but I have to admit that I still get the heebie-jeebies whenever I come into contact with one. X)

  • Dam you have balls for holding that rock with those roaches. I would shit my pants.

  • @myfood123 People say that all the time, I don't understand it personally as they are completely harmless :) They're also perfectly clean and free of any disease, filth etc :)

  • man! do u have bals. i would never dare to do that

  • awww they're cute ^_^

  • As a New Yorker, I've seen my fair share of these but I must say that your little guys here are beautiful in coloring and very curious on the brink of cute! Especially at 0:43! We never let them get this big but then again, given their situation people don't want to :/ Shame in a animal loving sense of things~

  • the biggest problem roach in the states is ironically the german and oriental species.i believe they are actually indigenous to america.they call them that because usa gave them to those areas through crates, i think.

  • I'd.. honestly be terrified of them getting out of their tank.

  • Great vid. There's nothing that strikes terror in my heart like a roach. But when you show them in captivity like that they seem like cool people. :)

  • wow...great video...had seen other type of cockroaches as pet...but i had never yet seen people keeping american cockroaches as pet...

  • I didn't know people actually keep american roaches as pets especially with its reputation as a pest. Interesting.

  • They are beautiful. :)

  • Yay Roaches <3

    I'm just SOOO curious...but..

have you ever seen the movie Joe's Apartment?

  • Oh of course. :) Love the funky towel song~

  • dump some at mcdonalds see if it get shut down

  • I'll never forget the hilarious event when I discovered that American cockroaches can actually fly when one came zooming in from the other room and landed on my chest while I was watching TV. I never knew they were actually capable of using those wings to fly.

  • I have to get some vaseline or petroleum jelly for my tank so i can get my hisser colony going again.

  • Gotta love how roaches crawl all over each other without a care in the world. You know, cares like... "There's a roach on my back!"

  • Gross, but cool. Could never keep one as a pet myself....would be too afraid of it escaping and making babies in the walls :(
