Still for me most brilliant 80's band (and still going strong) is Iron Maiden. More of a thrash metal fan Megadeth, Motorhead, Anthrax, Slayer, etc.

Yeah I'm a little biased, but even a lot of the metal we had in the 80's was still just about keepn' it loose and blowing off steam, the satanic, blood and gore, see how many demons you can summon, death and more death crap, was very much under ground. So much of that is so damned depressing and dark, I'll never understand how someone in the prime of youth can become so fascinated with death and self destruction.

I met these guys in 1986 at the apollo in Manchester...they rock hi Russ ;-) Rangy was stage man..I appeared with Iron Maiden who they were supporting...remember havin a very bruised bum from all the bites backstage...that's my claim 2 fame lol...Brittania Hotel after and Steve (Iron Maiden) stood me the taxi fare home...somethin 2 tell my kids...HI GUYS! ;-)
