The 14th amendment was not part of the original constitution just as the 18th amendment (prohibition) is not... Its the reason it is called an AMENDMENT. It provokes immigrants to illegally cross borders and have children in the U.S. This video is a "pwn" to the people whom think they're "pwning."
Repealing the 14th amendment is perfectly Constitutional and is protecting the United States from a flood of immigration that is causing massive crime and overcrowding problems. As Milton Freedman stated "You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state".
D) Ron Paul wants to phase out federal welfare programs leaving it up to the state to decide whether or not they want to implement welfare programs. Therefore the incentive for an illegal to receive welfare without putting into it through taxes and other programs will still be a problem. clearly it isn't fair that a legal citizen is paying for these programs while someone else may be milking off of it.

The key here that needs clarification is "and subject to the jurisdiction" it's and, not or. The same reason foreign dignitaries babies born in the US are excluded from citizenship because they aren't subject to US law (jurisdiction) also goes for anchor babies. If their parents can commit a crime and be extradited/deported they aren't under US jurisdiction. Ok, when John Bingham and others coauthored and cosigned the Fourteenth Amendment, they were attempting to protect the rights of newly-freed slaves. They did not envision that people would use it to birth anchor-babies to gain citizenship. This mechanism should be disabled, and if it requires amending or revising part of the Fourteenth Amendment, then so be it. The Constitution permits us to amend it.

These were the Reconstruction clauses that kept the former slave states from making laws affecting the newly freed slaves. In Dred Scott v.Sanford, Black people had NO rights and were NOT citizens. The amendment was the legislative remedy for that decision. Rep. Paul, would indeed weaken or appoint judges who share that same viewpoint.

The key here that needs clarification is "and subject to the jurisdiction" it's and, not or. The same reason foreign dignitaries babies born in the US are excluded from citizenship because they aren't subject to US law (jurisdiction) also goes for anchor babies. If their parents can commit a crime and be extradited/deported they aren't under US jurisdiction. Ron Paul only wanted to amend the thing not revoke it, which the 14th gave congress the power to do in section 5.

Foreign ambassadors, visitors, and military members who have a child on American soil do not have an American child because they, along with their child, are still liable to the jurisdiction of a foreign government.
The 14th Amendment was worded as such for freed slaves during Reconstruction, not illegal immigrant babies.

Ok, when John Bingham and others coauthored and cosigned the Fourteenth Amendment, they were attempting to protect the rights of newly-freed slaves. They did not envision that people would use it to birth anchor-babies to gain citizenship. This mechanism should be disabled, and if it requires amending or revising part of the Fourteenth Amendment, then so be it. The Constitution permits us to amend it.
