@EdwardFrostJR I would strongly recommend not to buy this camcorder. I've had two of those myself, and both of them got broken same way - they've started to record videos with dark stain on right side of the picture. It wasn't lens fault, because zooming in didn't eliminate stain. It was constantly there. It wasn't black, it was just dark, unspecified area, visible especially when filming bright objects.
@EdwardFrostJR I don't own a camcorder now. I got sanyo mainly because I liked sample videos from YouTube and price was really good. I could probably get similar, cheap and small HD Cam from another manufacturer, but another thing I didn't like about sanyo was Antishake feature which was rather bad. Image was shaky anytime I was walking while filming. I think I will save more money and get something different. I've had a go with some Panasonic and Sony and they were AMAZING but quite expensive..
@EdwardFrostJR First of them had this problem same day I bought it, so I just thought I was unlucky, so I've just took it back and exchanged it like for like. Second one was working fine for couple months - maybe four or five. And one day I've noticed, while filming sky, dark stain. Different shape and size but it was there. I didn't drop or hit this camcorder anywhere, so I can't really say what caused this problem. All I know is that I don't trust this make anymore.
@EdwardFrostJR Maybe today I'll have some time and I'll try to find and post video with visible stain, so you know what I'm talking about. I have not heard about that problem from any other sanyo xacti owner, so maybe it was just my bad luck. Twice.
this is amazing. what settings did you use, dude? :)

@EdwardFrostJR I've just uploaded footage showing stain "in action". BTW, sorry for delay Ed.
