The 7.3 is the toughest motor fords made, but the 6.4 is the fastest... You can add 300hp with just bolt on stuff, Also I heard that ford was coming out with an even faster motor. I personally own an 02, 7.3l

Im going to buy a bigger truck soon. Ive done a lot of research on the 6.0 and heard nothing but bad about them. Im prolly just going to go with an 02 with the 7.3. are the 7.3s reliable? Is 150,000 miles low for these model trucks?

My 7.3 has 339,000 and still runs strong. So 150,000 should have a lot of life left in it.

@rebelredneck10100 stacks are overrated, everyone has them. unless you drive a semi truck, be a little more creative than "stacks" that have been used on diesel motors for years, its nothing new and exciting. i had stacks on my 2000 7.3, and then i saw EVERYONE had them, and everyone that had stacks thought their truck was the toughest on the road. so just out of spite i ripped my stacks off and ran straight stainless 4in all the way back with a 5in tip. not fancy? my truck is tough, not fancy.

yea right ... cummins is a good motor but they have like a 6 banger sound to em ... while the powerstroke is a v8 an growls like a beast when you get on it :)

I have drove 7.3's, 6.0's, 6.4's, Cummins and Duramax's amd I do believe I like the 7.3 Powerstroke the best. They got more power than all of them, stock and they sound better than anything out there.

Right man 7.3 best one of all even though 6.9 was first basicy same motor as the 7.3 and in late 87 the 7.3 came out. But rember one thing ford and dodge both brough the diesel back up from were gm hurt the market for the diesels with there 6.2 need i say any more about what i think of gm.And one things for sure the 7.3 would still be around if they could keep up with the new guide lines.

I own a 7.3 and love it, but no one can deny the brute force of the Cummins... Why you noobs get so damn brand gay I will never understand. Both the International and Cummins are bulletproof engines. I have never been to keen on the D-max (Isuzu).

@69fordstepside Sorry but you wrong. I own a 01 7.3 that i put exhaust and tuner on and my fathers stock duramax has more power. Pulls way harder but it isnt straight axel like all the other ones. Im a die hard ford guy and im hopin this new 6.7 that they came out with will put them back up top.

the 6.0 have way more bark and alot more pick up than the 7.3s. ive driven both and like the 6.0 way more even tho the 7.3 has a sound of its own nothin sounds better in my opinion than a 6.0 at 3000 to 4000 rpm

Nice! Nothing beats the 7.3, and they sound great! I prefer the 7.3 over the cummins in every aspect, but idk about the new 6.0's and 6.4's... I might prefer the cummins, go FORD though! best trucks out there, we've worked the fuck out of fords in a way that no dodge or chev would ever take!

love the whistle of a 7.3 but i think i prefer the 3in better yours is nice though dont get me wrong
