First roller coaster I ever rode... Probably around 10 years ago. Was worried all the way through the line and then when we were finally on it, after the first drop, I screamed to my mom "I'm gonna puke!" even though I was secretly having a blast. So sad to see it closed down.
@ roroisnumber1...............the service life for the coaster was up, and it would have cost more in repairs and to maintain. also a lot of the parts i found out from going in 2010 from a worker from the park that it was hard to find the replacements
i was going to ride this on the last day but the line was too long and we were going to go back to it later but we forgot and it was already nightime and we had to leave
As a grown 25-year-old man I have no problem admitting that this video put a tear or two in my eyes. I'm really going to miss that ride and to see how far back that line went was such a fitting tribute to such a great coaster. Thanks for the post :)
its sad they closed the ol'girl but from what i understand the arrow corporation wasn't making anymore parts for it and the coaster cars were due for there safety rating was about to expire. so rather then looking for another parts provider they shut her down now i hope they give it a rebirth or bring back drachen fire. either way the big bad wolf was a tragic lose and makes me wonder how long til they close the loch ness monster i guess only time will tell.

I hope they don't decide to close the Lock Ness next! That would be tragic and sinful! It's the symbol of Busch. I'll miss the BBW's hanging drop down to the river & the little German Village. So sad they demolished it too. I feel like I've lost a life-long best friend.

The forums say that they are supposed to be putting in a new country, the talk right now is Spain. I rode the BBW the first year it was there and it will be missed. Lets hope for some new fun rides from the new owners:)

And they replaced it with Grover's Alpine Express... It's like Drachen Fire all over again. Replacing rides with new and better rides is called progress. Taking out full sized, unique coasters and replacing them with esentially nothing is called...
@dvdtranslations They built Grover's Alpine Express months before even making the announcement to close BBW. Grover's Alpine express is at the way front of the park in the Sesame Street section of the park, and nothing has taken BBW's place yet.

From what I understand, the BBW coaster's makers do not support this make of coaster anymore. It cost the park too much money to fix things or find replacement parts since that company made that choice.

i remember that night sweep was held at Big Bad Wolf if you listen to the radio in the background thats security 917 is the german zone officer saying Germany is clear except for the Wolf waiting on 60 guests
