so at this point is the phone rooted? (i'm slow i know) after this is something like cyanogenmod necessary or is that only if i wanted something more than 2.3? and i assume this will wipe the phone or.... (i so need a for dummies book) cough cough. i paid the 10.61 :) so once im at home and this huge awesome filled file downloads ima be watching these again
@kkimble89 dude, when you install CM7, you UNLEASH your phone! you get to overclock it to 1.5ghz STABLE or install another kernel that gets you all the way to 1.9ghz. Plus your ram is being ALL HOGGED by Sense and your phone runs smoother than it ever has. Seriously, you will think twice about upgrading! especially if you're like me and prefer a keyboard!
Anyone willing to do a COMPLETE walk-through (complete newb level, I don't even know what s-off is lol) for the HTC EVO SHIFT PERM root!?!?!? Yes, I know it's an old crap phone so save it.... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!
@utubepunk it has less ram than the EVO3D and the screen is slightly smaller. It doesn't have an unlock method (that I know of). It has SLIGHTLY more ram than the Shift, BUT with Sense on top of Android, you'll have ACCESS to more ram with the Shift and CM7 on it. I'd go with the Shift! :D
@wwjoshdew The 4": screen is my sweet-spot. I don't like the extra thickness the keyboard adds to the Shift. Its looks like some on the XDA forum have rooted their Design. Dunno- I like the Design's Design better. You helped me back a year or so ago root my HTC Hero. So ready to ditch it. Thanks for your help.
