why make such a big deal out of this story? A while ago there was a girl in US of A being locked in a back yard shed by her parents for many years, abused, etc before known to the world!!!
@thehuonpine So you mean it's impossible for people to feel sorry for both cases? Are you asking this rather silly question as you lack the ability to feel empathy yourself but pretend you have it? Some people do lack it actually and try to logically decipher any emotions they can not understand. Empathy is for everyone you care for. Your question should not even be asked, that's how great of a mistake you made there.
