Tabla Players that have "Sur" in them can turn their 'hand' ( so to speak ) to anything in the music world. If they have "Sur" in them then that also shows their Tabla Playing too when tuning the Dayan, when playing different emphasis on Bayan and when bringing a "balance" on both hands. Tari Khan Saab is a great example of this in everything he does on the tabla and now everything he does with his voice. Masha-Allah. I pray that Allah-Tala bless him with long life and best of health.

You are absolutely correct. Good observation. His Guru ji Ustad Shaukat Husain Saab also mixed a lot of Delhi technique with punjab, for example a lot of his tirekite where played with 2 fingers which produces a very sweet sound Yet lots of his kaidas that he played were deeply rooted in the Punjab style.

late Ustad Shaukat Hussain (may his soul rest in eternal peace),first guru was pandit heeralal-ji (R.I.P) who was the disciple of ustad gamey khan of the delhi gharana who was also the younger brother of khalifa ustad nathu khan.After the partition he became a disciple of ustad miya kader baksh thus creating a style of delhi and punjab hope this helps!.
